Leased one of this 1 month ago and I am loving it. raced against audi S3, type R 0-1/4 mile and they couldn't win. very quiet and this car takes off quick from 0-60 with the launch control. Very happy so far and my interior is the red one fully loaded Harman Kardon Speakers.

Well yeah, it's a Mini Countryman compact SUV that has been lowered and given a "4 door coupe" rear end. That why the front end is so awkward, the suspension mounting points on a SUV are much higher than on a conventional car so the bonnet line has to be very high.

I own this as a daily driver along with an m4 for fun. Compared to the m4 of course it doesn’t compare but it’s not meant to , completely different leagues . However it suits my needs as an all year round daily driver . Perfect description normal people fast ....it’s not a car for car nuts but it’s a nice place to be and perfect car for people who want something that’s capable , easy to drive , no drama and just a great value package ..

Precisely, there is so much hate out there for the two series Gran coupe mostly from people who have not driven one, and the automotive press who dislike FWD based BMW’s. I have a 2022 228i XDrive. It is extremely comfortable, quiet, and just a pleasure to drive. It is plenty fast, the quickest published time is car and driver at 5.1 seconds, but I have matched that with my Vbox, I did swap out the run flats for ultra high-performance summer tires. I did not like the look of it that much in pictures but in person they look very modern, and sleek. And sure there are people that are gonna go lease the cheapest 2 series Gran coupe, but when you start adding options you’re looking at 43k+ Which you could get a base three series, most of the 228i’s on the road have a MSRP of about 42k which is not a cheap car, so I don’t think it gives off the image that I wanted a BMW but I could only afford the cheapest one. I also have a model 3 performance. I could’ve afforded a 330i with options or an M340I, but the 330I in base form is louder on the highway, the seats are less comfortable, the ride is less comfortable…. And I wanted a panoramic roof. The 330i It is fast and fun to drive of course.

We have a new M235i and it looks particularly good in black with the magna red seats, much better than white. I also have a 3 series and whilst the driving experience is different it still handles well and Xdrive the FWD makes only slight difference. The engine is a lot of fun. I personally like the design. I can understand it's not for RWD purists, but it a fab all round car and has a sporty side along with being practical. It offers a lot of fun, flair, nice details for the the price imho.

I tested this one last week a 39000$ with only 17000km you can’t beat that price and compared with the cla 35amg you’ll pay 15 grand more unless you want to buy a dated S3 for the same price with a 100k km on it. People love to hate it but it is a great car to drive, I find it quieter and more comfortable than a 330 I, very tunable just like a 330i, and the interior mimics more expensive BMWs. I bought a 228I X Dr. Gran coupe when my 330I lease was up. I enjoy driving the gran coupe more than three series, it’s much more comfortable, quieter, and more compliant over harsh road surfaces. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it, and I truly don’t believe it gives off the appearance that I bought the cheapest BMW because that’s all I could afford, it’s not cheap, and most of them on the road are well optioned…

Compared to those this was a lot faster, also more numb but I loved the interior. Compared to the 3 series, I liked the way it drove better. I felt the 3 series was in the wrong gear when turning and I preferred my parents 2000 3 series ( which they still own) more in terms of driving dynamics. Looks wise, yeah its a little weird but I think I might go with this over the series but more likely just get another GTI.
