I also made the Jump from Waze (after 10 years) to Google Maps a few months ago. Waze is 100% overrated. Waze likes you take you from point A to point B on the quickest route possible, no matter what. Google Maps will do the same, but it tends to keep you on the main roads/highways. So many times I would be driving with Waze navigation but still know fully where I am and where I'm going. It would ask me to do random cuts here to smaller roads here and there when I know it would not be faster and sometimes, make driving harder, like forcing me to do a cutthrough or turn around after. Comparing with Google Maps, none of that random jank is in the routing, and you can still alert/flag items with Google Maps. Google Maps even shows Waze data and can route around traffic. It's also sooo much more easier to find businesses, like places to eat or gas stations.

I found that a lot of the time Waze routes were not even faster because of them underestimating the time it takes to do things like unprotected left turns which they recommend often. Definitely not worth the hassle of the "trickier" routes.

Hey bud! I love DEX - But Samsung MOST PROBABLY is gonna remove the DESKTOP DEX support with ONE UI 7 onwards! It will work with Tvs and standalone monitors - but I guess the option to use desk on desktop or laptop screen is gonna go away! I have never had issues with Google maps. I've had Waze freeze up on long drive frequently. IDC if the fixed it now, I won't use an app that unreliable for long drives, and I'm not keeping 2 maps apps because one is bad.

Waze lets you say don't go on dirt roads. Google maps doesn't. I drive a chevy bolt. My tiny heavy ass car has burst 2 tires on dirt roads when driving slowly. Also when i have waze open for navigation I can still open google and use it to pull up hours or a phone number without canceling my navigation.
