My wife got me a Spark for Christmas. It's easy to use, but I still very much appreciate your Spark vids. Keep up the great work.

What pedal effects does Johnny Marr use on How Soon Is Now. I'd like to recreate that..

It’s a side chain, triggered by hi hats. But you can get a similar effect from a tremolo.

Man..just your opinion...is the Spark a game changer ?

Hi Martin, its a great practice tool. If It encourages people to play more guitar, then they have done a great job. It’s not going to stop you using your main amps.

@The Studio Rats I am waiting for my spark, so thanks for putting out these videos. Out of curiosity, how do you think the spark compares to the Katana? Anyway, I love your content!

I had to wait for 6 months to get the Spark (ordered Dec. 8th 2019) so meanwhile I got the Katana 50 MKII. Soundwise the Katana is my favorite. The Spark comes with two full range 4" speakers and the Katana with an adult 12" guitar speaker. You will never get that sound out of a Spark. BUT, the versatility of the Spark is a game changer: The Katana has it's fixed place in my living room but the Spark goes with me in the backyard/garden all day even if I only use it as a Bluetooth speaker and it sounds great. It's powerful enough to let the neighbors listen to good music, if they want to or not 😁With the Spark App you can noodle around over backing tracks or simply KZbin/Spotify videos and even that sounds pretty neat (without firing up a stereo or your computer). When it comes to a live situation like rehearsal with a band or concert at a small venue like a bar/pub, Katana is your friend. Due to the power soak (0.5, 25 and 50 Watts for the 50 MKII) you can play it literally everywhere. And if you follow the videos about the Katana in this channel you know, that it sounds incredibly good. I'm happy to have both and I don't want to miss one of them anymore. If you can get both get them! If you need a small but powerful practice amp plus a really good Bluetooth speaker the Spark will not disappoint you. I'm not Paul but own both and that are my 2 cents on it (not in detail but a short overview). Cheers and stay safe!

@@adrianojameson629 lol cool, man! You sound pretty much exactly like me! I have my katana in the living room but the 100 is pretty large and is starting to make me even more unpopular with the wife! So, the idea was to get the spark so I can keep it there, move it around and be less of an eye sore. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me on this. I ordered mine on 12/25, so who knows exactly when the thing will arrive haha. I'll just be patient. I do love new gear :)

Weird, my comment didn't post. Damn interwebs! Anyway, I just wanted to say I really love your content! Thanks for posting these Spark vids. I ordered one and am waiting on it. I also own a Katana 100 mk 1. How do you think the katana compares to the spark?
