Many barbarians converted to Christianity and who knows how many tried to keep some sort of syncretism going - amazing this was not even brought up during the grave discussion - also to affirm the individual was rich or high rank is not very smart - he was certainly not poor since he apparently had a horse and quite a few weapons but with the little info provided as far as to which society/ community he belonged to I don’t believe it is possible to make such assumption...

He is teaching medieval history of western Europe and its impact ultimately on Britain and Ireland, to a class at Bilkent University. Which is in Ankara, Turkey, where of course everyone goes for their Western Civ. It is somewhat comforting to know the young people of Anatolia have some interest in the subject 😀.
