These YouTub videos have opened up a world of knowledge aimed at specific audiences. I love lectures about this subject. It started when I learned about the Bronze Age in a college class I was auditing. I may have missed a presentation or two, but every time I stumble across a Bronze Age Collapse video I watch, subscribe, and ring the bell. Seth should be paid well. Wouldn't it be nice if we had an economy where that happens.

Interesting that a military retirement (At least in the US under high three) is still 20 years after thousands of years. It was somewhat modified under the blended retirement system (BRS) that kicked in during 2019 as a cost saving measure. Now instead of retirement pay being (2.5%)*(your time in)*(base pay), it is (2%)*(your time in)*(base pay) + whatever your managed to save in the military 401k. Still kicks in if you get out after 20 years, and under BRS if you get out before then, you keep the 401k money. Those who came in prior to BRS had a choice to switch over, but most didn't because you'll lose out on money. A few were tricked into choosing it, and the choice was irrevocable.

I'm not apart of any Hebrew Israelite way of thinking, but even the Torah explains the Philistines, Libyans, Egyptians, Ethiopians, and Hittites as being Hametic i.e. (Dark Race), so how could the speaker along with his ancestry be mistaken for Egyptians if they look nothing alike.

As far as we know the Philistines were realistically European in origin and more so with an Aegean connection. The Hittites would have had a similar skin tone to people living in Turkey today.

While I found this portion interesting as it is. Chronologically correct, it does not help in terms of research with respect to the actual causes for the migration of the Sea Peoples. Although partially disputed. The closes I can research has been the incursion. Of Celtic people into north eastern Iberia, the greatest likelihood of the source of Ti; was fro,the eastern and. Southern shore of the Iberian peninsula. With the norther most area being called Levante. In the late Bronze Age. I have assumed that the inter Mediterranean. Trade routes would have the factors of availability and. Ease of transport. If an ore rich source has availability of a natural port then such trade of resources can occur with greater ease than by using an overland Route. Such a route would include all the intervening Islands, perhaps as a means of limiting an individual risk. So along. Such a trade route, interference could easily cause a breakdown and therefore begin a panic migration that overwhelms the resources in a domino effect,Island to Island and turn into social actions of piracy, and become militant with respect to mainland cultures, that in turn are overwhelmed by such “invasion” until as indicated by your lecture, it is stopped and/ or integrated into another society.
@sunny-sq6ci
@sunny-sq6ci 4 жыл бұрын
unfortunately, archeologists may never have the clearest understanding of what exactly triggered the 'sea people' to start invading. there's some growing evidence that some significant environmental event took place that lead to widespread famine and drought, but due to the stigma of such a subject, very few archaeologists will pursue any kind of research or field work.
@walterulasinksi7031
@walterulasinksi7031 4 жыл бұрын
s cho as is accepted , that overland transport of Tin would have been very expensive from Afghanistan. It imply that 5he Sea routes were the most profitable, in terms of economics. You do not have to feed a boat and you can fit more into one than a pack animal. So an advancement of the results of the Urnfield incursion into northeastern Iberia with a possible takeover of food resources to Levante region of eastern Iberia could have started the initial disruption and migration.

i take it you consider yourself to b an enlightened atheist. the term biblical archaeology, is no different than any archaeological studies of other civilizations. the bible itself in 1 form or other, existed at least 3000yrs or more. just cuz it has the word ' bible' doesn't mean its any less relevant. then again, 'intellectuals' like you probably think your superior to those who are religious/ spiritual.

I was wondering your thoughts on Thomas Thompson and John van seters? Compared with William Albright? Tom and John seem to teach hate along with their opinion on Abraham. The goal of history i don't think is to hate. Tom and john most likely support all those child sacrificing God's. Its the only reason one would hate the bible so. It condemns sacrificing children to any god. Foolishness to think you can cancel Jehovah. The bible is about him, not Abraham. Jesus said at John 21:22,23. Bloodlines don't matter you follow him. That's way Jehovah took Israel's history away and hide it. Abraham had no proof of Jehovah and either do we. The prefect palindrome of history. Learn Faith Hebrews 11:1. That and the bible is all you need, all you get, which is far more then Abraham had. Peace and agap'e.

Not an expert but doesn't the new testament "Jesus" put an end to animal sacrifices like at the 2nd temple? Or did they just stop because the 2nd temple got destroyed and they decided to rewrite the whole thing in the Torah taking that out. But yeah the Phoenicians I believe sacrificed children, not just chickens, and pigeons and ducks, and sheep and stuff.

@@MarkVrem the temple was destroyed in 70ce and that ended the animal sacrifices. Jesus did condemn the sacrifices, but it was in vain because it was more about making money of of sin. Thats why he through out the money changers. Plus in 70ce Israel was slaughtered. 1 million died in the wall of Jerusalem. Their genealogy was destroyed as well. The Israelites only purpose was gor the messiah, the promised seed of genesis 3:15. He came received the heel wound and sit at the right hand of Jehovah. Isreal was never really Faith and in 70ce he erased them from history. Why? # say his name. They dont use his name, the people he gave it to. So removed their name. Thats why sacrifices stop. And to this day no temple. Maybe they should # say is name. Jeremiah 12:16,17; 23:27. Peace and agap'e.
