My personal head canon is that Vitiate came into possession of it, either as a gift from Ragnos or some other method, and evolved it into the nathemic ritual. We know that he had rituals which allowed him to feed off his opponents strength and that Tenebrae was born with a similar ability. It’s possible that the nathemic ritual was just Vitiate using Tulak Hord’s ritual to amplify his innate ability to a massive degree which would explain why he can repeat the ritual without assistance in the future on Ziost. It also offers a pretty clear explanation as to why no one ever discovered the holocron. It could have been in Sith possession all along but no one had the innate ability to actually utilize it like Vitiate did.
@LordAllomere8 күн бұрын
I must admit, that idea does sound intriguing. As I recall, Tulak Hord created more than one holocron, the most famous having his knowledge of dueling techniques. That would be the one Stupendous mentions here. I remember Marka Ragnos having one as well in his own tomb, that one having his knowledge of Essence Transfer, but was lost. I suppose you might be right, that one of these holocrons could have led to the Nethema Ritiual.

Some rumors have it that it's all simpler than anyone would like. By that I mean that for such ancient times where lighsaber forms were not even a thing yet, a sith lord by the name of Tulak Hord created a form. Form 2: Mokashi.

I’ve only heard good things about this Sith. An overwhelmingly powerful Sith Lord. In terms of what I heard Sidious, Tulak Hord, and Darth Vitiate would be the apex and the most powerful of all Sith in the order. The SS class you could say. S tier right below them I’d put Revan, Vader, and Exar Kun
@eds19429 күн бұрын
It was the Republic that wanted to completely extinguish the Sith following their defeat in the Hyperspace War. But, the Jedi Order does not kill those that are not a threat. Instead the opted to further exile those that surrendered, barring their return to Korriban, and attempted cultural genocide by destroying or moving or limited and controlled access to anything of spiritual value to the Sith and their Force order. Which is a key part of the origin of the Sith’s quest for revenge against the Jedi Order and its Republic.

I keep imagining someone like Jacen Solo, a sith-ish who could flow walk. No need for holocrons or spirits...one who could drift back and stand at the side of sith like Hord as they developed their techniques, learning them at the sith's side. Hords lightsaber techniques. Vitiate and Sadow's rituals. The techniques of the sith triumverate. The strategies of Revan and Bane. So on, and so fourth. A truly complete sith, what Palpatine thought he was.
@jockpackage17709 күн бұрын
An interesting possibility for his technique could be that it's not a technique at all. Perhaps it's a method of sorcery designed for light saber combat and battle in general. Force users have a sense of the future but perhaps this one Sith lord refined it to perfection, or at least within the limits of a short duel. Menaing that, such a power would allow him to piece through the true future. Seeing not only the possibilities that other force users see in battle but being able to read so far head of them that their senses could never keep up and thus he would know at a glance the perfect way to kill any foe. He would see a method or opening that is so far beyond that any faints or instincts of any force user that they could never match him. Almost as if anything a foe did was merely following the script that he had laid out as soon as they engaged in a duel. Not through mind control, of forcing the opponent to take the actions he wished, but seeing their future in such a way that their death at his hands became destined in that moment. If this was limited to the light saber, to single combat or simple short term battles, the knowledge would have to be destroyed as soon as possible. Before it was refined beyond that. Think of how Zannah developed a flawed force cloaking talisman, one that she had to maintain constant focus to maintain while also keeping the artifact on her. This was later refined, within the Rule Of Two era, to the point that someone like Plagueis or Palpatine could do it without any such artifact and with less effort. Imagine if this theoretical power of perfect foresight was refined. Like to the point of manipulating the future itself. To the point of manipulating years of war before such a war began. That, more than anything, would be something that the Jedi would fear. Wanting to share the knowledge would be a form of arrogance or wisdom and foresight. If his gift was truly foresight, maybe he had a vision that was thousands of years ahead and thus much more vague. Maybe he saw that his knowledge would be lost forever. No one ever discovering his secret again. Perhaps other teachings would lie dormant, eventually to rise again by another Sith discovering them by chance, but his secret was never met with such luck.

(ALL YOU HAVE TO TO IS FOLLOW THE STORIES OR BOOKS THAT GEORGE LUCUS WROTE), but I guess that would be to simple. How about letting this guy or a few true S.W. fans give it a go, it couldn’t hurt at this point. part of me suspects another reason why the jedi were so desperate to find his holocron and part of the reason they knew of him specifically was they didn't want it to be discovered that the great hyperspace war wasn't the first encouter with the sith the jedi had the last time was during the reign of tulok hord so if his holocron had records of the conflict and it was revealed that the most recent war was more of a retaliation against the aggressions of the jedi that they would lose much of their favor they had built with the groups of the galaxy like the republic especially if it was revealed their goal with their war against hord was less then morally justified and just a crusade against a group that could rival the jedi not a desire to aid but to hold onto power.

From _a storytelling perspective_ , the Holocron should be a first hint at the Sith Prophecy when 'the Force' _balances itself_ by imbuing and protecting a champion of the 'Dark Side' - against Light Side users and rival Sith alike. Revan and Bane - if not discovering traces of it's legacy - were closely aligned to it's teaching all the same, acting exclusively on it's behalf, regardless how foolish it appeared from the perspective of Force user allegiances.

@seekingabsolution19079 күн бұрын
1: jedi don't tend to seek fame and glory after death the way Sith do, so their great masters probably wouldn't be brought up by anyone not seeking their knowledge, 2: The Sith and assorted other enemies of the jedi have themselves conducted mass cultural purges of Jedi knowledge and history in an effort to weaken and destroy the jedi as a threat, most notably Palpatine did this during his reign as emperor.

Well been since he was an ancient sith and the Jedi has had hold of the holocron would they not have studied it. And used it to fix their own disadvantages.... Or since he is ancient would that form not be outdated being since they have had thousands of years to perfect lightsaber dueling.... Could it actually be an inferior form of battle

To be fair any number of their techniques could have originated with Tulak Horde for all we know, given how much time has passed and given his teachings and style were probably an influence on the jedi and Sith who came after him, especially if his holocron survived the events of KOTOR 1 and 2.

@eds19429 күн бұрын
Tulak hide the holocron. You can find it in his tomb on Korriban during the first Knights of the Old Republic game. I don’t remember what happened to it afterwards, but I think that it was optional. (One option was to give it to the head master of the Sith academy on Korriban at the time, Uthar Wynn. A large holocron can be found in his old room at the academy in KotOR 2, what the Exile Meetra Surik does with it is also optional) For all we know, it made its way to the great Jedi library on Ossus, which was abaddoned during the Great Sith War since Exar Kun ordered the use a Force imbued relic of an ancient Sith ship which created the created the Kron drift. After which, the Jedi Order relocated to Coruscant, taking whatever they managed to save from the library with them. If it was taken to Ossus, it might still be there, hiding in some forgotten vault. The same for if they took it to Coruscant. However, Atris took a number of Sith holocrons with her to her secret academy (if you can call it that) on Telos.
