What Stern did to his former staffers who all played a role in getting that show to where it could get people to pay for it and Sirius satellite is a disgrace . He just signed a four year extension with Sirius which pays him a million dollars per show ! for next 4 years , he only does 3 shows a week and takes tons of vacation. Nobody should listen to him until he cuts 5 million dollars checks to Artie , KC , Stuttering John , Jackie etc etc - he wouldn’t even feel it ! How did escape the me - too cancel culture ?? I've had SiriusXM (All Access) for $7/mo. for years now. I call them to cancel before my renewal date, (and tell them it's due to how bad Howard 100 & 101 are). They're so desperate to retain subscribers, they'll go low. I have it for music & sports channels.

I know it's fashionable to hate S. John nowadays, but the most craziest Stern Show memories that I have ALL involved him. And.....(pause...deep breath)...his book was GOOD. If you're a real fan of the show's best days- just reading his behind the scenes of the show back then is riveting. Of course he's gonna take his own side in situations that Howard made him look bad, but when you hear his side which was never allowed on the air, it makes more sense. I miss those days....I can't listen anymore.

Tracey did not allow him anything to fall back on by pointing out they would not have walked 4-5 block in the rain rather then hang out at a local bar where the prices were cheaper. In fairness, there was allegedly one girl who ordered Petron but why not comp the non "top shelf likka"? Grillo tried arguing he did cover the first round of drinks in other videos but the interns claim he did not pay for one drink for anyone. Grillo changes his story but he does admit that what does "take of you" mean? Bottom line it seemed he convinced these people to go the bar to help him out but he did not do them any favor. Funny that he claimed he would keep seats available for them but Tracey said they were the only ones in the bar. @van wray I wouldn't compare John and Jackie. John left for a MUCH higher paying gig. That was the right move. Jackie left and did what? Nothing. His wife divorced him and he NEVER made good $$ thereafter. Remember, Jackie walked away from a 5 year $3.5 million offer (approx.) If he had stayed through the Sirius years he would have made at least as much as Fred-who purportedly makes around $6 million a year. Jackie also lost a very lucrative side career (stand up and other appearances) that was promoted for free through the show. Jackie's decision to leave the show (nearly 20 years ago) has cost him between $60-$100 million. Without question the worst business decision EVER made by a show business writer.

Man, this really saddens me. I've been a hardcore listener to Howard since I was a kid in the mid 80s all the way to Sirius, and to see now how so many of his classic crew from back in the day all hate him and hate each other in some cases is sad. The show was the greatest thing at its peak in the mid 90s. Even into the early Sirius years. It's like a championship team 20 yr later all bad mouthing each other.

Kinda like the old saying, “never meet your heroes” because you will most likely get disappointed. I’m sure so many tv shows and movies that we grew up with have the same thing, maybe better not to know. I think the main thing that pissed off most of the staff and all the secret shit talkings was how shrewd of a businessman Howard was/is. Maybe you have to be if you want to make mega millions, idk, but the way he carried himself for decades was he wasn’t like that. That he came up from nothing (probably true) and made it by fighting for everything. Say that’s true. What he obviously lied about was he in no way shape or form had any say in about his crew’s salaries, which is a blatant lie. He also used to claim he had no idea on how much his staff made/make. That’s bs too and everyone knew that, but whoever spoke up legitimately got problems right away. I’m not an insider though, but I’m pretty sure I’m right. Proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

I was a daily listener during this (Private Parts theatrical debut) period -- I can vividly remember how Stern kept dropping Mary McCormack's name in a weird sexual way, specifically "Yeah, Mary offered me sex a few times, just so we'd have better chemistry as a couple on-screen, lots of leading actors + ladies do that" -- it was too repeated and deliberate to be schtick. Howard of course always claimed to have declined Mary's advances, but Vincent Pastore ('Big Pussy') described Stern 'sleeping around with co-stars' (notably Theresa Lynn) a couple of years later. Howard furiously denied Pastore's claims, BUT he also immediately jumped to "Oh, you don't mean Theresa, you mean Amy [Lynn Baxter?], it was Amy who said that" -- real chaos of the moment, implying that three or four different women-stories were circulating. And of course none of this even touches the Ralph-condoms-in-movie-trailer fiasco.

Problem when Grillo did the stuttering John interview - he was able to get these people to admit who they did not care to work with BUT did not follow up !!!
