4:09 I'm going to STRONGLY disagree here. Going to HR about a problem 99% of the time is a VERY bad idea. HR is not your friend and are there to mitigate the company's liability. A lot of the time if you go to them about a problem YOU become the problem. Speaking of work, where you work is another thing you should generally keep private. One time I found this chick posting extremely offensive things about religion, a protected group in discrimination cases, on FB and the very first result when I Google her name is her LinkedIn profile that states where she works and all of the organizations she is associated with. All someone would have to do to potentially screw her over big time is screenshot those comments and share them with her employer and those organizations.

I am SO glad that you made mention of the problem with going to HR with a problem! It's one of those catch-22 situations, where, when the problem comes to light, they'll say that you should have come to HR with it, but, like you said, I've seen that not turn out right for some folks, as well as having had not-so-satisfactory results, myself, from thinking that involving HR would be a reasonable approach to a conflict. Of course, I guess that if you're the person on the other side of the outcome, the one who's not disappointed, then, I guess THAT person would say that involving HR is indeed the preferred means of conflict resolution. So,...

@@HughJorgan09Generally with work problems it is usually either just deal with it or get another job. I'm a firm believer your compensation is for putting up with jerks and idiots for a third of your day, not just for your output. Now if the company is doing something illegal, get a lawyer and blindside the crap out of them.

This is an awesome video. I would like to suggest ONE thing in that you I advise against sharing workplace issues with HR as they do not function for the employees, they function as a staff entity to protect the company and they are NOT confidential. Their loyalty resides with the executive staff. If you have workplace issues, consult a lawyer as at that point; once you hire said lawyer, you have attorney/client privilege.

The workplace advice is vital… When you keep your opinions of the work environment to yourself, you’re able to stand on your own. Once you start bitching, complaining, and gossiping, you are becoming part of a clique with common thoughts. You will also stunt your professional growth.

When you use a credit card, you are letting the world know where you are, and what you are buying! You are also giving the world your credit card number. You are letting the world “ know your business”! When you use cash, they don’t know nothing! I do not use a credit card unless I absolutely have to! Like a car rental or airline reservation. When I shop on line, I use PayPal exclusively. Don’t you watch police shows? How many folks were proven guilty through credit car activity?

This is so important in this day and age. I'm so sick of seeing every detail of peoples lives everywhere I go online. There are people that share so much that you can basically track what they did, where they were for the whole past month, each day, it's crazy. I read this book years ago called something like Rules for Life, and literally the first rule always stuck with me. 'Keep it under your hat'. Basically, keep your life to yourself.

Here’s 10 more things men might consider keeping to themselves. 1. Health Issues: Specific details about personal health problems unless necessary. 2. Past Mistakes: Certain regrets or past actions that are best left in the past. 3. Criticisms of Others: Negative opinions or criticisms about colleagues, friends, or family. 4. Dislikes and Pet Peeves: Specific things that bother them which may not be relevant to share. 5. Personal Insecurities: Deep-seated insecurities that could be exploited or misunderstood. 6. Family Disputes: Internal family disagreements or conflicts. 7. Unsolicited Advice: Giving advice when it hasn’t been asked for. 8. Legal Issues: Details of ongoing or past legal troubles. 9. Social Media Gripes: Complaints or rants about social media interactions. 10. Detailed Daily Routines: Mundane details about their everyday schedule.

I agree with your first point, especially with all of the haters out there. I will say finding a good mentor or accountability partner can be a big help though. You don't have to tell them everything but it's nice to have someone who will "check" you if you fall off track.

I agree with your save wisdom on all nine points ( except #3)! A person going through a stage of mental illness “ needs” to communicate with an experienced and licensed professional, who can help guide them through this tough season of life. Keeping deep seated issues and problems to yourself is like pouring salt on an open wound.
