WHY IS LETTING GO SO HARD? | ** HONEST talking about TEENAGERS **
It's Sunday guys and time for some more honest talking from Zoe, this time about teenagers/young adults, how they change so fast, how hard it is to accept those changes, the challenges that come with it, and how to cope with the changes when they come 😮‍💨 On top of that I give you a Halloween crafting update with the kiddies, and some fantastic news on our Cash for kids fundraising!!! 😁👏 We finish with a look in ASDA at the Halloween gear in the afternoon, and a beautiful walk at the caves in Lossiemouth 😊☀️ We really hope you enjoy the video, thank you for your support x

I struggled when my son hit his teens, he was a good boy but obviously he changed and i struggled. The best piece of advice was given to me by my boss and it was as follows.. You have to let them go in order for them to come back...this was so true. I know its hard but remember our children are only lent to us. X

That is so right. Children are not yours they are only loaned to us. But just rest assured you will always be there for them and they will always come back to you.

It’s so true Zoe, it’s not easy when their older 😔 It’s such a worry 😢Ours are 21,19,15,10 and 9. The worries are bigger as they are out and driving 🤦🏻‍♀️ So much easier when their younger and so true about the sleep 😴 It’s a different world to grow up in now unfortunately 🥺 Lovely Halloween preparations 🎃 👻 🦇 Looks great 🫶🏻 The sea 🌊 view looked stunning at the beginning 🥰 Nice little shopping trip 👍 The beach looks beautiful 🏖️ Thank you for sharing 😘

Zoe well done for your chat I think you help many with teenagers. Mine are older now in their 30's and I'll still worry about them, especially my daughter who's on her own due to no fault of her own with three young children. I'd like to say it gets better as they get older but I think it's being a mom thing. Everybody says it's the early years but as you say there's plenty of books to read. Not so much help for teenagers and sometimes teenagers find themselves going down a difficult Road by getting in with the wrong crowd. I've been so lucky with mine and they tell me off for worrying but as I tell them it's part of being the parent. I'm glad you had all had a lovely afternoon on the beach. Take care guys xx

I agree so much with teenagers being such a worry. Thing is - it never gets easier- I’m a grandma now and still worry about them. There’s house hunting worries, money worries … They always need you- until you need them😢 I wouldn’t change a single thing though! ❤

I have two sons my eldest son is a true homely boy, he loved watching movies, gaming and snowboarding down mountains, we live there but I used to worry myself stupid! He would never sleep out at his friends houses they always came to us which I enjoyed immensely! We live rurally so building go carts, computers etc were his choice, he left at eighteen and moved to uni in a small Welsh town, he wouldn’t have coped in a city, he loved his time there but he never went out partying or drinking he enjoyed pub quizzes and going to eat out in expensive restaurants ( which we paid for ) but I was just relieved he was having a good time! He still lives at home at age twenty six he is happy and is in no rush to move out, I am so relieved he is here I don’t worry about him anymore! My youngest is twenty four, he is autistic, very high anxiety and depression so he has only left the house once with his best friend since they were four years old, he is also autistic, they went into a pub to celebrate Pride they stayed for the quiz and called us thirty minutes later to pick them up! He is a writer so his job is something he loves and he isn’t in the office with other people which is something I worry about all the time, I don’t want him to be alone and unsocialised so I worry about him not going out, if he was going out I would also worry about him! You have raised your children to be kind, polite, sensible adults, you have given them love, honesty, respect and kindness so they are well equipped for the world outside world but that will never stop you worrying about them, I used to have black hair it is now mainly grey and that is down to my children being adults! ❤

Great vlog and talk Zoe 👏 It must be hard with so many teenagers / adults in the house, you never stop worrying, no matter how old they get but you are fortunate that you are a very close family and your kids are a credit to you and Ben. I remember my mum saying to me many years ago the same thing, you never stop worrying but it’s not until you have kids of your own you realise just how true that is. Great work from the wee yins with the Halloween decorations and loved the walk on that beautiful beach to finish the vlog. Enjoy rest of week guys ❤

As a mom of 3 kids that are grown and married with their own families now, I understand exactly what you are feeling Zoe. Letting go of our babies is sooo hard but we have to trust that we have done our job in building their foundation. Sometimes they might stumble and sometimes one might fall flat on their face eating dirt. But as long as they get up, dust off and learn from that mouthful of dirt, they will be fine. Just know you will still be needed and wanted through all the different phases of life that they go through. FYI ~ it sucks when they start flying the nest!!!

Oh Zoe you are so like me, and most other parents, worrying about your kids. My eldest is 28 and has 3 babies of her own and my son is 25 and living at home,I still worry about them. When they were smaller I used to tell them to stop fighting etc and recently my daughter was home from Scotland for her third baby christening and at one stage the two of them were arguing over something and I just said to them I am so happy, having the two of you home with me, even if you are arguing. I just felt so at peace as I knew they were safe. As you said you just have to hope you taught them enought to keep safe and mind themselves. Love to all

I’ve only got one child but found the teenage to adult stage the hardest. It was the not knowing where they are that kept me up at night especially when he went to university.

I think UK and Irish, and European teens are given much more independence, and therefore more opportunities to get into risky situations at a younger age, than North American teens. In the US, much of the drinking and clubbing doesn't (at least legally) happen until after high school or during college out of eyesight and earshot of parents. I think most American parents would feel uncomfortable with 14 yr olds working late shifts, or 16 yr olds drinking and leaving formal education. I know I was always surprised with seeing teens working in UK shops when they would have been in school (in the US). No wonder you worry.

The teenage years are a challenge for sure, my marriage ended , I had a sixteen year old who struggled terribly my son was at home in his early twenties and I had a daughter that had left home, we had our moments believe me, I had to suddenly go out to work full time to keep our home, but they all grew into wonderful happy healthy adults and we are very close which is wonderful along with grandchildren , they do have to follow there own path but they will get there, I wouldn't change a thing, so keep smiling you will be fine, as 😘❤

The hardest are the teenager age. Driving I had 3 children and my daughter was the hardest. None did drugs or anything like that. My oldest son went in the air force at 18 so that was a worry other 2 went to college. Their lifestyle was the hardest for me. I couldn't sleep till they were in. And then we didn't have cell phones then and the phone calls ringing all night. I miss the babies and I only have 1 grand daughter. She is already 17 . Enjoy all stages because they r gone before you know. You and Ben do great

Ah the teenage years. I have two of them. One who has just turned 14 and an almost 18 year old. My almost 18 year old went on a trip to London with his mates and honestly, I was so worried. Thankfully he sent me a link so I could track him. I could not relax until he was home safe. My 14 year old has started to go out more so its double whammy. 😶

You have children for years they depend on you for everything. Then they grow up and become teenagers. They don't depend on you for everything and want their independence. You just pray you gave them the skills to make good choices.

I have 3 boys and 1 girl, 2 teens and 2 older adults, the worry never leaves you. You are a truly beautiful human being and I just wish there were more people like you in this world!
