@@kkiuoi If you look beyond the battlefield and take a look at the entire picture, russia is expending crazy amounts of money and men in this war. Ukraine is receiving a lot of help from outside, and will continue to get help even after trump takes office. Maybe not as much as before, but they will not be left without help. Russia is now pulling young men out of nightclubs in MOSCOW (that is incredibly important, because putin has done everything he could to prevent moscow from feeling the effects of the war). Plus, the russian economy is absolutely, positively going to collapse. Putin did not listen to his economists and made unreasonable demands from Elvira Nabiullina (head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federarion)… he was too pigheaded with this war. And next year he plans to spend something like 35% of the government’s total expenditures on this war - he won’t last the year. So, I don’t think russia will win. They don’t have the resources. I am honestly surprised putin has lasted this long.

@@kkiuoi One other thing. Ukraine will never lose the number of men that russia does, because russia is too willing to sacrifice their soldiers for small pieces of land. Ukraine has modern battle tactics, not that ancient “meat wave” attack russia uses. But, I do agree that it looks like Ukraine would be fighting an uphill battle to get their territory back militarily - although, the exact same was being said about the Syrian rebels and look at what happened this past weekend, after four years… I don’t see any way russia will be able to hold on to what they have. Not even Crimea. The international community has never recognized russia’s claims to their so-called “new territories” (“Новые территории”), so if Ukraine starts taking them back russia will just have to accept it. Personally, I think once the russian economy does collapse, the soldiers will start to desert their posts in Ukraine because they will have no more command structure, no pay, no food, etc. We shall see.

Not quite. First, the picky part: today is Dec. 3, and the memorandum was signed on Dec. 5. Second, the most shameful part is that russia was one of those “big players” - who gave Ukraine “security assurances”. (For the record, Belarus and Kazakhstan also had the same security assurances from the Budapest Memorandum). Third, and most importantly - the Budapest Memorandum gave these three countries “security assurances”. So, to anyone not familiar with the language of diplomacy, the phrase “security assurances” is not the same as “security guarantees”. Security assurances are being given to Ukraine in the form of weapons, munitions, intelligence, logistics coordination, and diplomatic help. That is what Ukraine is getting. The Ukrainian president at the time, Leonid Kuchma, understood this… so, you have to remember that. Now, “security guarantees” are much stronger: that means the military of the country providing the “guarantee” will go directly assist if needed. Article 5 of the NATO Charter provides security GUARANTEES to all members. So, NO - “Article 5” will NOT be the same. I am an American, I would absolutely love to see my country send soldiers to Ukraine to fight. I would go myself if I had military experience. Yes, it would “escalate the conflict” and then muscovy would send more of those “oreshkin” missiles to Ukraine, causing more minimal damage - but we’re not there yet. But remember, the Budapest Memorandum (which was NOT a treaty, incidentally, and again President Kuchma knew this) was part of the incentive for the US, UK, and France to help Ukraine. China, btw, also promised some “security assurances” to Ukraine… how has that gone? So, don’t be so angry with the US/UK/etc. because of Budapest. My wife is from Ukraine, her family and childhood friends are still there… we don’t suffer like the good people of Ukraine, but we’re doing what we can to help. Stay tough! 🇺🇦🫡

Silly muscovy trolls… how do you define “winning”? The Germans thought they were winning in 1944, and by May 1945 they had surrendered. The Germans occupied MUCH more territory than putin’s forces currently occupy in Ukraine. And the German military was MUCH more powerful, competent, and intelligent than today’s muscovy military. But if saying “russia is winning” helps you sleep at night, then by all means please continue to think so. But you will not WIN this war.
