Porsche. I'm probably about the age of your Dad, Carl & have driven nearly every brand of car made & there's just NOTHING like the drive & feeling of connectedness of any 911. Plus 911's are the "everyday supercar". They're massively reliable & less expensive to maintain, while Ferrari's are "art cars". Leave them in the garage & look at them, because they brake down easily & every mile they're driven, they lose value. My favorite Ferrari memory though is, flying in a Testarossa & listening to that fabulous Flat 12. With that car, I didn't need a stereo. All things considered, if I could afford it, I'd like to have a 488 Spyder as my "special occasion" car.

There are a lot more than 1000 GT2 RS’s made. Yes the UK only got 100 but our allocation was limited because the factory had to stop making EU cars because of new emissions regulations. I’ve seen numbers quoted of 2500 cars built.. There are confirmed numbers of more than 1,000 cars just in the US....so a lot more 1,000 total. Almost definitely more GT2 RS than Speedster’s made.

Interesting topic. I think those who are new to the supercar lifestyle would go with the Ferrari. For the fortunate few who have owned many, they'd go with the Porsche as it's easier to live with on a daily basis. Personally I'd prefer Ferrari and the F50 is my favourite car also

@@ashs1670 a recent story has stated "these are offical aswell" london 2021 is having a massive restriction put inplace covering 8-18miles wide from the current congestion zone their banning cars older then 2016, a daily charge of £12.50 is going to be charged every day covering 24hrs a day. this doesn't cover electric/green cars, cars over 40yrs old are also not effected. by 2030-2035 the UK is going to be fossil fuel free so no petrol/diesel fuel will be sold, I cant remember if hybrid vehicles will also be banned for full GREEN vehicles.. So ppl with petrol/diesel engined cars are buggered & those spending millions on supercars.. well they'll be worthless as there's going to be no fuel to power them. the only option would be converting to full electric power OR doing a hydrogen conversion, of which theirs no private nationwide company doing such conversions.. only newly build vehicles such as buses & some trial vehicles are currently under development.. however such production numbers are increasing as is production of hydrogen fuels... now ppl have a £20M Mclaren F1 what's it worth when its fuel less & requires modification's to operate, even older-classic vehicles would require massive engine work OR replacement to run in the future so their driving characteristics will change & such mods would ultimately effect the values... dealers & manufacturers arent really speaking much about official government plans. I'm pretty sure Europe have also similar plans for similar periods as originally plans we're for 2050 however with current global warming events.. plans have been moved forward. "this can be search & verified as its REALLY going to occur"

I believe they only made 2 993 Speedsters, one for Jerry Seinfeld and one for Mr. Porsche. The 964 was the last volume Speedster aside from the 2 special 993 examples. Love your channel, and this episode!

Since I can only afford a Porsche, I drive a 911. If I had enough to buy a Ferrari, I’d buy a 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0. Why? Never mind, if you have to ask that question you simply don’t “get it”. Ferrari is for show (you have to have the absolute latest models to get any respect, that tells you exactly the type of people you are trying to impress. No thanks!). Porsche is for the driver and for the track.

It's hard to argue with the emotions cars like a Lamborghini or Ferrari provide. It sure is strange and discouraging to see how fast they become outdated and irrelevant but I'll take a gated 6 speed V8 or V12 Ferrari over any Porsche, I wouldn't even take an RS 4.0 over a manual Gallardo LP550-2, but it's all relative I mean what do you want to do with your car, how much money do you have, I could list you 20+ modern Ferraris that I would take over any modern Porsche except the Carrera GT when it comes to just cruising around, but if you live in the canyons or the alps or on some nice mountain roads then most Ferraris wouldn't be your choice if you could trade in a much cheaper Porsche. Reliability, performance and money are the only reasons why I'll never consider a Ferrari, they seem more like a lifestyle or luxury brand than a performance brand and that's the opposite of what I'm looking for.

I’ve got a good buddy who as we speak has a McLaren 720s, aventador, GT3 touring, 997.2 GT3, GT4, a lotus Evora 410 sport, exige track car, Elise track car and lotus GT4 race car (Races Lotus cup). He can’t walk into a Ferrari dealer because he has never purchased a Ferrari and has no allocation history yet McLaren let’s him borrow a 675LT for a few days because they are practically begging him to buy one. Says a lot about who Ferrari wants to drive their cars. Go listen to Chris Harris on the BS they pull.

The problem with Ferrari is that they went public, so now they are launching a bunch of new models and accounting has taken over engineering. Porsche are always technically astonishing but they lack the passion for me with the exception of the Carrera GT.

Where are you getting your information from? Most places state that only 1000 GT2 RS were built. Do a Google search and the 1000 figure comes up do not sure where you got 3000 from. They do hold there value well in most markets. Perhaps USA is different but in the UK where this guy is based residual values are strong.

Controversial opinion: the two most expensive Ferrari’s and Porsche’s were his favourite although he did mention the turbo s. A car which is road legal is more about the one time thrill, it must be class taking the f40 to Tesco and realising it’s bumpy af and having nowhere to put the 6 bottles of vino. I’d love to see this man drive either of these cars from Belfast to London (which I’ve done in my boxster twice) and just realise that a Porsche 911 turbo s is the ultimate car like he said some where for wine and enough horses to drink it

Yeah but in many countries and areas there are smooth roads. I could daily an F50 or Carrera GT or 993 Turbo S, I wouldn't go on roadtrips with it but if you own either of these cars then you have enough money for another luxury car that you can take out on roadtrips. I think both making cars to stiff to pretend they are sporty is bad but also since they started turning sportscars into luxury boats I stopped caring about new cars. We're at a point where horsepower is not that important anymore, so I really couldn't care less about the next million dollar hypercar, the next slightly facelifted Porsche or Ferrari, or the next Bmw and Mercedes entry model cars becoming more boaty, flashy and getting more gadgets. The car you consider "ultimate" is only going to become more wannabe-futuristic, boaty, flashy, and get more electronics in the future. An F50 or Carrera GT is a much more pure car. It doesn't have to be usable but it must be purpose built, the Turbo S models are no longer purpose built that's why they come up with so many special limited editions.

I think the SF90 will make more sense, when they update the entire lineup. The normal V8s will get replaced with hybrid V6s, and the V12s will be killed off, with maybe one more super special edition, like say, the F80.
