Your instincts are right. You know your costs, selling your lambs as soon as you can cover those costs and make a small profit, (£20/lamb say) is a good strategy. At this time of year you need to build up your grass covers, flush the ewes and have an even better crop of lambs next year. Love your content, good luck to you.

Nailed another one Kris! How have them lambs got cocci? You’d think lambing out you’d be safe as houses to? Bloody sheep

Great news on the market price you got, but to be fair you sent some fabulous lambs! 😊

Your lambs are looking great his year. I hope the trade keeps up for you, the price in the shops certainly is staying up, but that is no indicator of what the farmer gets.👍

So glad you got a good price at market. It is expensive to treat them and so much work to raise them. Cheers!😊👍👍

Better to take the money and run, than wait and then your market dives. Especially if your overheads are low and the profit margin is still allowing you a fair living.

LOL yeah I'm not a fan of spiders since we have black widow's here! I keep a stick at all my water valves to sweep for webs. 🙂

When I worm it takes about 4 weeks for them to look good again, seems like the wormer is clearing all good bacteria along with worms. They will come.

They were big pure texel ewes I think someone will take a chance on lambing them.
@davethehat Жыл бұрын
@@lesleywatkins1172 its a ewe that for whatever reason you've decided to no longer breed from ( maybe bad mothering, bad teeth, mastitis etc, etc) and she'll go into the food chain through livestock markets and meat processors. Hope that helps.👍

Isn’t normal to bring $500 in and $600 out?🤔

Normal to have less coming in than going out? That’s pretty typical on a UK farm 😵💫😵💫
