I noticed him in Strong Girl Namjoon and just the chemistry being top notch and overshadowing the main couple- he was why I kept watching. Lovely runner was what made me a fan though. I don’t usually watch school dramas anymore as I’ve outgrown that phase, but lovely runner had so many elements I adore. The whole traveling back in time bc of love, the cute turn of events of him having a one sided crush on her, the full circle moment of her lighting up his life and he lighting up her life as well. The devotion he has and the way he’s willing to wait years. The casting was perfect and their chemistry was top notch

Then I was so happy when I saw him in 20th Century Girl, but sad at the same time because it was so short and I wanted to see more of him. In my opinion, the charm of Korean Romantic comedy has been changed since K-ent tries to produce works to suit Western culture. I couldn’t finish any Korean Rom Com recently in Netflix as far as I know. I started, watched them until 3-4 episodes and I stopped. I don’t know why but they didn’t provide what I used to love in K-Rom Com. I have K-rom com slump until Lovely Runner. This drama makes me feel like when I started watching K-RomCom such as Full House, Coffee Prince, The Greatest Love, The Master’s Sun and Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, etc. Actually, I’m happy that Lovely Runner isn’t created by Netflix otherwise they may not want those sweet cliche scenes to show and focus only comedy, not romantic. Just my humble opinion though.

It was Strong Girl Nam Soon! Just through the clips I was charmed by his character. However, when I heard what happened, I never watched the show, lol. Sorry. But now I'm seeing clips of Lovely Runner and I am waiting for it to finish so I can watch it in a platform near me! He has such chemistry with the FL and his character Sun Jae is so adorable [especially when he was younger, his crush on Sol is so silly but sweet]. I'm rooting for a happy ending! Probably he was only nominated. As far as I know he hasn't won any Baeksang. Mind you, Baeksang is one of the most prestigious awards in South Korea. He was good in 20th century girl but he had very limited screentime and the acting was not that great for him to have won the award. Whereas in Lovely Runner, he is the main lead and got an opportunity to show his various emotions and acting chops. So as an actor, Lovely Runner is a bigger opportunity for him. And glad that he and HyeYoon took the role. They both brought life to the characters. Lastly a big thank you to the makers of Lovely Runner, they truly brought back the essence of K-dramas. These two are definitely going to win some awards next year.

I have been following him on Instagram since his Record of the Youth days, he had some 4. something million followers. But after Lovely Runner, his followers crossed 8M on Instagram. That speaks a volume. And the director of Lovely Runner also said that he choose BWS for this role after seeing him in 20th Century Girl - a person who can portray both high school boy and a man in his 30s.
