Thank you for this excellent video. After watching I downloaded the firmware and also the DFE Raw. On testing I was impressed with the native HDR and compared with both DFE and the Raw version. I found both plugins were very noisy compared to the firmware HDR, very disappointing and I would not use unless put through a noise reduction program. I did find the plugins to have better chromatic aberration.

I am glad to see such improvements for single photos with proper manual finishing but there are no ways that a real GSV photographer make those things against thouthands photos manually for a single blue line in the park. Do Theta Z1 support Handheld HDR mode for interval shooting mode? Can I press Shooting Button once and get HDR quality photo each 4s whithout any additional manual input while capturing a trail for Google Street View? Do Google support HDR in GSV video mode (6.7K 5fps) in Google Street View app for Ricoh Theta Z1? What is an average size of 6.7K pixels Jpeg (8-bit) photo in Handheld HDR mode? Does Ricoh fixed a bug with GPS coordinates for interval shooting while some photos get wrong coordinates and others get none coordinates at all? Did default Jpeg quality without Handheld HDR improvements changes? Are there at all any meaningful improvements in the new Z1 firmware and Theta app for real GSV photographers whose shooting thousands photos every day for new GSV blue lines?

@@YuqingGuo One question in addition to all above: Is there a way to setting up Theta app and Theta Z1 camera once for Handheld HDR mode and TR-1 remote control simultaneously for doing the following workflow in the case of GSV trails capture? 1) Connect Z1 and TR-1 with Plugin or something else via Bluetooth once a day before shooting session 2) Connect Google Pixel 5 to Z1 in Theta app via Wi-Fi once a day before shooting session 3) Switch Google Pixel 5 in sleep mode by pressing power button then place it into pocket 4) Pressing only TR-1 button (wiout touching the smartphone) each time to capture HDR photos in 6.7K resolution with GPS coordinates in their EXIF metadata (correctly coordinates for each photo) 5) Hearing not only the "Shoot Beep" but the "Ready Beep Beep" to be sure that I can shoot another one photo as fast as possible (ideally less than 5s for a one photo on average from 1k times in a row for a single road). If the "Ready Beep Beep" signal or other sound can not be provided then it is no way to do much with this workflow (if it exists at all) in the real field environment because it is crutial to shoot fast as well as not loose frames for contineouse GSV blue line.

Hi! thx for all You work and posts here. Is it only by me - thath the DualFish RAW plugin makes a 1/2 size files??? - it's 3648x1824 16,7Mpix - thats why its so FASTER - but lower resollution?

Handheld hdr option is off when you are shooting at manual? or you can select it first at auto. Or this options complete goes off when you shoot manual?

On Windows when I try to drop my photo to the stitcher it gives me an error that says: "The image size can be processed is 7296 x 3648. If the HDR Merge function of Lightroom Classic is used, deselect the Auto align checkbox." I already tried to modify that into my LR

I just got my Z1 and took a bunch of photos to test out all the features...i did upgrade firmware to 2.00.1 right away. I also installed the Dual-fisheye plugin and played with it. I love it, but as far as ease and workflow (for what i'm doing) the HDR is produces is great by itself and while the plugin's hdr settings make the photo look a bit better, it's not worth the extra time to do it...for me.

@@nicostenger1093 I updated the firmware and took several shots using internal HDR and plugin HDR....both look about the same. For my work, i won't be using the plugin as it's a waste of time...for me.

I just tried the HDR dng file. It has serious color banding when raise shadows or exposure. I mean really bad. I never seen this kind of banding or break apart. I do not know what has go wrong.

Try Handheld HDR instead and watch carefully on the differences in between the pipelines.
