Decent review over all. But as mentioned elsewhere here, having a set of resonant panels next to the speakers under review causes colorations. At least short the speaker's terminals as that damping factor adds significant control to the drivers/ panels. Shorting terminals was how I educated people on damping factor in my speaker seminars. It would have been interesting to describe the difference to the LRS+. As also mentioned here, panels rock! Well ... sound better....

I would suggest plugging the negative black terminal to the lower binding post (keep the positive in same upper post) AND invest in the best affordable jumper cables (dump those plates).

Burned out on expensive high end speakers reviews on KZbin. Will stick with my old Polk Audio Speakers.

How exactly does one become a professional audio reviewer. I've always read the popular magazines and dreamed of such a job.
@TheTASmagazine20 күн бұрын
Many people start by reviewing their own gear: filming those reviews or writing their reviews (or both) to create examples of what they can do. Check in the Audiopedia section of The Absolute Sound website for the methodology article. It will give you some ideas about how to proceed (and you can look at the structure of reviews you like by us or Stereophile or Darko or Steve Gutenberg etc). Once you have some prototype material, you can contact the editors of various publications and see if they have openings.

Eminent Technology LFT-8b speakers should have been included. And, at less than $4K a pair, would have won.

Yes… the LFT 8b might be much better….

Reviewing the Totem with Maggie’s in the sound field was a mistake. However, the best choice would be to remove the Totems and enjoy the Maggie’s, because plannar magnetic speakers sound best. Box speakers sound like “boxes” and that’s an unnatural and unacceptable sound.

I am not sure we can assume the camera footage was shot at the same time the listening sessions were conducted. Maybe begin with a question as to the reviewer's process rather than beginning from a place of scorn?
