My previous home electricity was coming from a nuclear plant but after some research I switched to a diesel generator. After more research I discovered coal fired electric a purer , more consistent signal. it must be small coal lumps that can only be efficiently mined by the small hands of Chinese children. I am currently in audio heaven. IT WAS WORTH IT.

I prefer renewables for a much more organic self satisfying sound, I can only listen on days when it's sunny or windy but it's worth it

Hearing the "difference": I think you hear music and not a "difference"? I, for one, only ever hear music on my system!

I made my entire house into a Faraday Cage, and the foundation is on air bearings. I also had the house rotated such that there is symmetry with my system and the earth’s magnetic field. All joking aside, beautiful system. The tweaking and small targeted improvements is part of the hobby. Replacing coupling caps, upgrading drivers, etc. is part of the fun for me. Hope to make some of my own components from classic designs when I retire.

Don't forget that for optimum sound, you need to have your turntable itself on another platter which rotates it slowly over the course of the day to account for the Coriolis effect's influence on total RPM

What a fascinating individual. I can’t say what he’s like in person but here his personality is of man who strives for excellence in a completely unpretentious manner. He made equipment I can’t afford to even look at very interesting and relatable , actually let me say this = for myself he just made the completely foreign world of high end audio completely palatable. That’s something special because no one else has even came close to doing that for me . For individuals like me there’s Steve whom I love and respect and immensely appreciate, but Mr. Fermer? Wow, this is an interesting man and someone I intend to listen to more of.

Digital music all has a high frequency noise overlaying the whole signal
@aeonikus1
@aeonikus1 Жыл бұрын
@@jm_1214That statement is not true. What you have in mind is fact that many cheap or rather I should say poorly designed transports (optical, streaming, etc) and DACs can have some glare audible but there are available (some much less avail. than other, like Pacific Microsonics) some very fine devices that renders digital music in a very analogue and pleasant way.

Great story about Brian Wilson! How cool is it to give him some joy and solace during a terrible chapter in his life. You earned your halo that day. One thing though - Analog Productions says that both their mono and stereo 45/33 are mastered by Kevin Gray from *the original master tapes.* So either something has changed (don't know about previous versions), they're lying, or you're mistaken. I'd be interested in a follow up. I have the _OG_ Carl and the Passions, and it seems to me the new pressing is better than my (admittedly well worn) version. BTW, when building my house 20 years ago, dedicated wiring just for the electronics in the listening room made perhaps the greatest difference I've had in my years of system building.

'Ole Audiophile to Mr. Fremer, sir: I was beginning to believe how diametrically opposed we seemed to be about audio specifics that we shared little in common. This production did much to bustup that notion. It was about what you said far more than the gear you displayed that gently persuaded me into a form of agreement. The comment about blowing the big bucks in our dire years went straight to the heart. As you sat there diddling on about casually driving a one ohm load or lower, my bullshit meter clicked off making me the sheepish goatherder for a day. Thanx for straighting me up about you.

I’m not 100% sure it is still necessary giving the current state of digital, we’ve come a long way in the past 30 years (when I started my quest). My approach to audio is super minimal though, I think it would be considered the opposite of yours, computer feeding powered speakers digitally at 24/192 with room correction - as minimal as I can make a digital to analog path.

Interesting system. I can't quite comprehend how having 10 metres of new copper cable from the top of your house to your meter, actually reverses any negative effect from "terrible sounding aluminium cable" when the other hundreds and hundreds of metres that electricity is traveling to your house in is still old aluminium. Electricity doesn't really give much of a stuff what it's being run through it just goes from a to b no dramas.
