I found the 12.9 iPad Pro too damn big as a tablet to use in bed and on my 10-hour flight to Japan. After returning home, I got the 11-inch M2 Pro with the Magic Keyboard, and I absolutely love it now for desk usage, in bed, on the plane, at the gym, in coffee shops - you name it. It's damn perfect! So light!

Just upgraded from the 2017 10.5 inch to 2018 12.9 inch and I absolutely love it. I mainly use my iPad for content consumption (watching videos, movies, gaming, web browsing etc.) Just got the pencil and drawing is really cool. Took some getting used to but the larger display just makes everything feel more enjoyable and now my old one just feels small and I could never go back! Plus the speakers are INSANE. All about personal preference I guess.

For artist the 12.9 is definitely the better buy as well, because it allows you to create bigger canvases with more layers in Procreate. A lot of artists use Procreate so it's a shame that these kind of videos hardly ever focus on what artists can do with an iPad. For drawing iPad pro is the best tablet out there.

As someone who uses it for schooling I love my 11 inch. It’s amazing, but after using it for over a year now it would be nice to have the extra screen space, but I don’t personally believe it worth the extra cost to me “personally”. For video and streaming I’d say go 11”, if it’s only for school and work 12.9” will probably be better.

I bought an iPad Pro 11’ 2020 during the sales this summer and I think it’s the best deal I made this year : 256Go and cellular for 860€. My previous iPad was the 10.5 from 2017 with the same configuration and the gap between the two is worth it. As a P-E teacher, no hesitation to choose the iPad pro versus the MacBook Air. It’s perfect for my usage.

I just bought iPad Pro I love it. I use it to mainly read a lot. I read a lot of PDFs and use a note taking application on the side. I also use it to play videos game on breaks with a controller. Overall, I really enjoy it because it is just a faster alternative to using my MacBook Pro. The confidence that the iPad Pro 12.9 provides is uncanny.

I have the 2018 12.9” and just bought the 2021 11”. I still prefer my 11” version. If you use the tablet AT ALL like a tablet the 11” is the perfect size. The 12.9” is awesome while docked in the magic keyboard. As soon as you pull it off and use it as an iPad then you can feel the weight and size…it’s not enjoyable. Also while traveling on an airplane, the 11” fits perfectly on the seat back tray table. The 12.9 is just too large. So I’ll keep the 11” for my portable device and then buy the new 16” MacBook Pro for a more at home solution.

MAN I wish I saw this months ago before I bought my 12.9”! I wanted the top of the line and bigger one to view the most content, but it’s a pain to use! Like you said, if it’s docked and on a desk it’s cool but if you want to use it to read or watch vids in bed it is a nightmare! Think I’ll trade it in next year. Hopefully the next 11” will have the same specs as the 12.9”.

I have the 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, and I said I was going to hold out for the 2021 version before upgrading. However, I’m still unsure if I should upgrade. I really like the center stage feature, but now things are going back to the new normal with less video conferencing. So is the upgrade worth it, or am I just liking the new shiny tech toy? I do plan on upgrading from the iPhone 8 Plus to the 13, and I will get the Apple Watch 7 if it does have the glucose reading feature.

My question stems from an photo editor's point of view: May one *benefit* from Apple's Mini-LED display for the M1 iPad Pro 12.9' during post-processing (in Photoshop Lightroom)? Or will one only get to witness the "glory" brightness of 1000 nits and beyond *only* when *viewing* HDR content? I've been told that Apple's new XDR projects at around 500/ 600 nits during normal usage. Do you notice any micro-contrast detail improvements when editing on the 12.9' mini-LED vs the normal 11'? Please advise, and thank you in advance.

I just bought an iPad Pro (11"), I was looking at the Air initially but the base storage of 64GB is a joke and the 256GB upgrade puts it literally just £25 or so below the iPad Pro (I'm using the education store discount too) so getting the 128GB Pro seemed like a no brainer. For me 128GB is enough when paired with cloud storage so I'm very excited to get my hands on it. The last iPad I had was an original iPad model gen 2! Lol, posted this before watching the entire video and you brought up this exact scenario. Nice.

@@yesitsmeguru Honestly if you’re going to use a lot of cloud storage the 128GB should be enough. I’ve been using my 11” Pro the last few days and loving it. It’s just the right size to hold but if you want the bigger screen I’d say go for it. If I didn’t have my MacBook Air I’d have gone for the 12.9” model too. The Apple Pencil is great to use too, had a lot of fun drawing in Procreate! If you can push your budget to the 256GB version, and think you’ll need that much storage then consider it but decide if you want a keyboard too or not as that’ll push the price up quite a bit. At that point you’re spending more than it would cost for a base M1 MacBook Air/Pro 13”, so decide if you absolutely want that tablet portability or the ease of use of a full laptop for writing assignments etc.

I have had the 11inch iPad Pro 2021 for about a week now coming from using the iPad Air 2020 for a month. The differences I have noticed, the display. 120z refresh, I did not really see the benefit when using the 2020 iPad Pro having a faster processor. With the M1 iPad Pro in my opinion is the best of the iPad Air processing speed and the refresh rate of the Pro. The Pro is both fast and great. Having the MBA M1 for work, the iPad Pro M1 is my personal computer. The main difference between the two that I like about the iPad Pro are the apps. The Pro is great for portable gaming, media consumption and photo editing. The MBA M1 is great for multitasking, working on two simultaneous workflows, dual profile log in and bigger screen and full screen external display support. The primary reason why I have both is to be able to separate both personal and work but also have a bigger screen when the iPhone just wont cut it. Great video as always!

I have an MBA M1 for work and I barely use my personal laptop so I want to sell it, upgrade my current ipad mini 4 to the pro and just have that as my personal computer. I'm only just trying to decide between the 11inch and the 12.9 inch, might go for the bigger screen size because of side car and using it as a second monitor when I'm travelling.

Im still running the 10.5" iPad Pro and use it everyday with work. I've been considering upgrading for a while - it's nice to see a good comparison review. I've not had a go with a newer iPad, but I am guessing they would blow mine away in terms of performance and screen quality now. Yes still using the 1st gen apple pencil but it all work fine, but the battery life lets it down a bit these days.

11 inch + Apple Pencil is the sweet spot personally for me. 12.9 is only for people who use it on the table all the time, or use it to draw and stuff. You can’t use 12.9 while laying down or anything, it’s a whole workout to even hold that thing. 11 inch is fastest chip, while keeping the whole point of an iPad.

I was planning on upgrading my existing and well-working MacBook air 2013 but I decided to buy the 12,9 inch Ipad pro. Solely because I will use it for studying and reading purposes primarily. I like the idea of an interactive notebook :) also the screen is amazing.

I'd love to see Apple's take on the Microsoft Surface Book - they've already got the tech in place. Have the detachable screen default to iPad OS when you detach it but change back to Mac OS when you're attached to the keyboard deck.

Doesn't even have to be Apple. I LOVE that form factor, wish a Gaming Laptop came with a Detachable screen like SB3. Don't know if MS has a patent on the technology, but more Windows Laptop manufacturers need to make it happen.

Sound quality is really important to me. Plus I like the look of centre stage. If you could focus on those when comparing to the air and standards iPad that would be Great.
