Had mine for a week now. Printed lots of my custom designs in TPU and soft ninjaflex on this printer with great results. My watch strap broke yesterday so I designed a replacement and now my watch is back on my wrist with blue 2-piece TPU strap after a 2 hour print last night. I received my S1 Pro on the 3rd of June. Assemble was a breeze. Worked very well out the box. I have printed all sorts of calibration files and very pleased. My old Flsun I3 was a real finicky machine to set up and wouldn’t hold settings for more than a few days. I highly recommend this printer and would buy again if needs must. Working on lithophaned as getting great results. PLA and 0.12 layers. Great review. Liked and subbed.

I got of of these after owning a Davinci 1.0. Needless to say, the s1 pro was a breath of fresh air but It was not too long before I ran in to some minor issues. The biggest issue is that the bed knobs don’t stay put - you really need to add locks to them. Another issue, slightly less critical, is that the gantry really needs to be supported like the cr10. Not a big deal and easily fixed with some files from printables. Also have had some issues with the Z axis wheels needing adjustment slightly more often than I would expect, causing the nozzle to grind on prints when mis adjusted - also not a big deal but worth noting. Can be hard to chase down issues if you’re new to printing. Another issue that I’ve run in to in the long run is that the cooling fan really is not good enough.

Very thorough review -- I know it's a bit of a tired trope, but it definitely feels like Creality did their best to make the "iPhone killer"... I mean "Prusa Killer" with this model. I'm looking for my first printer at home. I'm a fan of Prusa's approach, and it's the printer I have most experience with at my makerspace, but with (almost) feature parity I find it difficult to justify spending hundreds extra on a MK3S+. So I I'll be getting the S1 Pro, and then start saving up for a Voron kit.

Dear sir, I saw your KZbin channel for the first time today and the note about the Ender 3 S1 Pro, I own the Ender 3 S1 version, and an Ender 3 V2, to tell the truth in terms of bed leveling and height of the hotend, in the Ender 3 V2 I am used to doing it hot, but in the S1 as you say, they recommend doing it cold and I agree with you that it is a somewhat tedious job and it does not end up looking good, also my Z-offset remains in -3.94, somewhat high, but every now and then I have to re-level the bed and the Z-offset, which is what you recommend me to do to avoid having to calibrate the bed and the hotend, very often, hot or cold ? or some method that you consider effective and practical?, Of course, it is not a bother on my part. Also, I would like you to tell me where to get the .stl of the van or truck that you print in the video. I apologize for the questions but I think your point of view is very correct, that's why I write to you in addition to seeing your very interesting channel. Been looking for a printer to do PC without paying excessive price this seems like a good choice - it's annoying that Creality don't have some kind of easy compare chart do you can see the differences between what are so similar looking and similar named ender 3 series printers. Your review makes clear the significant differences - the ability to do Polycarbonate and Nylon is very attractive to me as i would like to do mechanical parts that could be exposed to heat and higher stress than PLA or PETG or ABS could easily handle. The lack of an enclosure is seems like something that can be overcome by the users putting the thing in a cardboard box while they print if they need a warmer ambient temp.

Mine just landed this morning (Manchester UK). A quick assembly, got me to wondering why the light wouldn't come on. Make sure the blue tape holding the plugs in the ally section are unleashed. Dhuh! After that, I levelled the bed as per here, & printed a calibration cube. Awesome finish. Oversized by less than 0.2mm (near enough for me). At the mo, totally impressed. I got the original CR-10, & it's still banging away stock. My original Ender 3 has maintenance issues, so is taking a holiday. It took 2 days to come, direct from Creality (UK). Go for it, it's a brilliant machine. So far...😎 EDIT: Got nearer to 0.05...

I'm looking to replace my old Ender 3 pro for something with direct drive, preinstalled auto bed leveling (or not, I could grab the BL touch from my old printer), a proper bed texture, nozzle that'll go to 300ish, etc... This printer seems to check most boxes, out of the box. 🤣 2 things are keeping me hesitating, though: - Sound levels: if possible, I'd want a silent out of the box printer. stepper drivers are one thing... but fans typically are the other - ability for cooling upgrades. This partially goes hand in hand with sound levels: replace fans and ducts to perform better ( around the nozzle, rather than just one side) and more silent is something I'd be after - but this printer seems to be pretty rough to mod that way. Thanks for the review, very all-round and detailed.

Slice in cura, preview to get the layer to change colour, then extensions-gcode edit.-filament change at layer. Re slice. Gcode inserts M600 to pause printer and gives you about 30 seconds to remove old filament and insert new. It works but you have to be there because there is not much time given to make the change.

0.05mm increments for a 3d printer is pretty good mate, thats all you really need, the print tolerances on these things are like +/- 0.1mm so 0.05mm to set offsets is all you need tbh

Hi, i know this is a coment is a bit after the posting of this video but this sound like a great printer so i bought it. But i currently have some problems with it. FOr some reason, the fillament is not sticking to the board even thought i leveled it. I dont know if this caused the issue but since I live in the US, i didn't know the 230v and the 115v switch so it was stuck on the 230v when i first started using it. SO i think since I had it on 230v and my house is 115v, this might have been the problem since i've tried for 1 week on 230v to print things and just learned I have to switch to 115v. Luckily i have insurance on this printer and i can return it but i sorta want to see if my guess is correct on why my printer is not working. Thx and this was a great video and very in depth. Also for the creality slicer. did u change any of the start/end gcode in the machine settings or no since i have heard about m420 and g28/g29 and have you tweaked the creality slicer print settings at all(if so can i see them by chance). I am also self taught so this is all new to me since i just started 1 1/2 weeks ago. Thx again. You made my journey alot easier. :)😀

Unfortunately it's likely you would have done some damage running at 230V. Is the bed actually heating up? In Creality Slicer you should be able to use the presets for the S1 Pro.

@@TheTechnologyMan yes the bed heats up and the version I got is the latest for the printer. I use Cura and the presets you posted in the comments. I also tried different start/end gcodes. Imma try to tinker with it during this weekend but no matter what I will return the current one and buy a new 3 S1 Pro. At least this time I will have enough experience to do it correctly.

Also, I forgot, umm do I have to calibrate the in/out extruder setting or whatever it’s called since I tried printing my own and the first layer wasn’t all that smooth but the prints that come with the creality work but some of mine doesn’t or I just have to set the speed to 20% for my own and sometimes creality’s prints if creality’s prints some times also not work. Lastly, for the cura slicer. should i just use the dfault setttings and starr gcode that is included in cure since they added the ener 3 s1 pro? Thx for the feedback btw. Great video

Wow! this is one of the best Ender 3 S1 PRO review (Yes, I've watched ALL of them, including languages I don't understand). Mine is supposed to arrive today, but got delayed and rescheduled tomorrow! :( This is going to be my first 3D printer! I have questions.... Where do we connect the laser engraver? I saw 1 comment from another video that it goes where the light is connected... Is that true? I have to disconnect the light to be able to use the laser? BTW, next time try their chat option on their website. I was able to chat with them instantly and they even gave me all the files and instructions to upgrade! But he did not answer my question regarding where to connect the laser.. Thank you! again! great review! SUBSCIBED!

Very similar for small detail prints - with a 0.25mm nozzle. Very hard to answer - better support with the Prusa and tailored profiles for loads of filament types saves a lot of fiddling. But more capacity with the S1 Pro and direct drive which I prefer.

If anyone is still in doubt about this printer, I can say the hardware is top notch, but I found the firmware to be lacking. The auto bed levelling isn't that good out of the box for instance. I've switched to using Klipper and it has since become my favorite 3D printer. It can print quite fast (I print at 80mm/s) with excellent quality once calibrated. I recommend it to people that are ready to tinker, but not for complete beginners.

The Ender 5 pro is out and I can get it from the country I am living in, Thailand. Would that be a step up from this printer? Also, I see that prints take many hours to complete. What kind of electric bill am I expecting from this? Living in Thailand, electricity is a lot cheaper than other countries, but if I have to keep this thing running for a full day or longer for one print, that can get rather costly. I really want to get into 3D printing as it is a hobby of mine as I started with the 3D pen, but I just fear large electricity bills. Seems something very minor to most people, but if you lived in Thailand and made the wages I make then you would understand lol :)

I've had very good bed adhesion - typical of other textured PEI sheets I've used. You do need to keep it clean which may catch some people out. Just been printing 20cm tall inserts for a vase which have a base less than 1 cm square without any brim :). I hope you enjoy the printer.

@@TheTechnologyMan Well - If I may barge in to give an example of why people would do this. For me it's simply a case of budget. I only have a limited amount of money that I can spend monthly. Sure - I can pile up money a few months and get this full S1 Pro, but then I have to wait patiently for a few months sitting down to turn thumbs. Or, the choice I have made, you can buy the "basic" S1 model the first month, and then start upgrading that model by buying the all metal Sprite head the second month (It's always handy to have a spare head assembly laying around if something goes wrong). The months after that you can buy a textured PEI sheet and so on. That way you can start printing immediately in the first month, and then "stepping up" to more exotic materials at a later stage. Yes - At the end you most likely pay more, but because you do it in chunks it's far more affordable and less noticeable on your wallet if you have a limited monthly budget. And, of course, you will have money left to buy other stuff like filament and so on (just imagine how frustrating it can be to have a full S1 Pro, and no money left to buy a few rolls of printing materials). 😁
