Interesting review , and the uk plug socket is a great idea, though i agree the power bank needs a bit more power for a uk plug and in my opinion it's a bit of gimmick as the problem i foresee if it was used for camping most camping led lights have built in power or at least mine does, currently looking for a good solar charger, most seem a bit naff, keep up the great reviews, Mart

Great video! You certainly are an expret, nice editing too! I was going to buy this for my Dell laptop, but you mentioned it's max cap is 80W and my charger is 90W. Do you think if I charge my laptop with it with it switched off, it would keep it under the 90W threshold and avoid the cut-off surge protection feature? :)

Will depend on the laptop - but a lot of laptops will be under the 90W limit with the power off.

You'd have to check the spec on the portable heater - I imagine it would need more power than the power bank can deliver (100W).

Great, detailed review. I already own this, and needed to use the AC outlet today for my Lenovo laptop, it didn't work. The laptop charging adapter just buzzed quietly. When I got home, I tested it on an old Acer and it worked, as did a very old 17 inch Dell. I do notice a buzzing on the laptop adapters. I also noticed it made my Kill-a-Watt monitor hot. I'm guessing the modified sine wave is a problem for more sensitive laptop adapters. There is a compatibility list on Amazon now, which I don't remember Seeing before. I can't figure out why, but it looks like it only works with certain volt and amp combinations. Makes me a bit worried to use it, really. Shame, the Lenovo was going to be the main use for it.
@TheTechnologyMan
@TheTechnologyMan 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you CBits Tech! I'd check the Lenovo charger - if it's over 4A that may be the issue.
@CBitsTech
@CBitsTech 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheTechnologyMan It's 1.3A input, that Lenovo charger. In fact, it's a lower power than the other two laptops that it did work with. The adapter brick is smaller. I wonder if the adapter can't handle the modified sine wave. I am not knowledgeable in these things though.

@@TheTechnologyMan is it normal for the unit to drain so fast? i charged an anker 10k powerbank using the ac outlet drained it to 1 light and was able to charge a note10 to 50%. do you think its defective ?
@TheTechnologyMan
@TheTechnologyMan 3 жыл бұрын
The battery is only 20Ah - most of its size and weight is from the AC outlet. Charging your Anker powerbank via AC maybe isn't that efficient - could you not use the USB ports? I doubt it's defective - but you might need to do more testing - or even buy a cheap USB power monitor.

Hey nice review. I'm currently looking for another modern AC power bank to power my multicolor (B22) LED bulbs for film making. On the bulb box it states 5W per bulb. I currently have an old 200w AC powerbank (I found in a pile of rubbish) and I've run 2x AC (B22) multicolor bulbs from 1x 3pin (uk) socket. It ran fine for 4hrs +. How many 220v 5W 3pin plugs do you think I can run on 1x 3pin socket on a AC powerbank, ideally I'd like to run 3-4 B22 LED bulbs....many thanks.
@TheTechnologyMan
@TheTechnologyMan 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you stuCameraman1! The Ravpower is 74Wh - so if it's 85% efficient you could run 4 x 5W bulbs for (74Whx0.85) / 20W = around 3 hours. It has a max sustained power of 80W so you run as many as 16 x 5W bulbs theoretically! I just reviewed a bigger (and more expensive!) portable power bank with a 240Wh if you need longer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqPQgneOl8R0p6s

I dont want to have half the power if I plug speaker in 😑

You need to look at the AC adapter and see what that requires - there should be a voltage and current - multiple them together to get power and check less than 80W. I don't have that speaker but would guess it'd be ok.

At the moment, I use a 12v DC lead acid batter and an inverter to plug it in and power it when I'm outside. Would this power my speaker? It's an AER compact 60w. I'll link to the specs page in the manual. www.manualslib.com/manual/629051/Aer-Compact-60-2.html?page=6#manual If you think this would work, how long do you think it would last? Just an hour or so?
