Soo glad I didn't by the famous named roll up rack!!!! The tire loop design is much better and secure. Came with a good lock cable and sinch strap. Tops tops tops.

I installed a rigid LED light bar on ours (the ones for truck tailgates) and plug it into our trailer lights connection. It really helps visibility on the highway for braking & turning alerting the person behind you since these fat tire eBikes block the normal rear taillights. We took our RadRunnera on the Hollywood from CO to WA to OR and back with 0 issues. They are as good as it gets!

0:48 Given that Force = mass * acceleration, and the acceleration is coming from turning, bumps on the road, etc., wouldn't the force just be proportional to the mass, not the mass squared ? In any case, your point about the necessity of having a good sturdy rack for ebikes is still perfectly valid.
@rncondie2 жыл бұрын
Shred, I got a C in calculus but I figured out how to beef up my Hollywood Rack. $15 piece of angle iron cut to 17 inches each and inserted into each end of the square tubing doubled the thickness of the wall on two sides. You seem pretty smart with math. If my 2 bike rack was rated for 80 lbs for each bike what is the rating now inserting angle iron onto the square tubing? Logically, if two sides of the square tubing doubled in thickness I would guess it went from 80 lbs to 120 lbs per bike but there is probably a mathematical equation that will tell me how much more weight I can add to my Hollywood 2 bike rack. Note: I had to grind a little off the long edges of the angle iron to make it a snug fit. I also painted the angle iron after inserting it. If I was to do it over I would have painted it before inserting. The best part you can’t see the angle iron and the added weight is not that noticeable.

How do those big tire holding loops do with a skinnier commuter type tire like a 27.5" x 2.4"? I can see that the outer endpoint of the tire would nestle into the curved end of the loop but on the inner end will the tire be too loose on that wide flat section? Question: Is it necessary to remove the battery on a Lectric 3.0 XP when using this rack?

We have the XP 3.0 and don't remove the batteries. I know the presenter mentioned removing them to reduce the wait of the load on the rack, but our bikes are well under the 80# load limit. It does make the bike lighter for loading but to me it's not worth the trouble.
