Mozart transcribed Miserere Mei, Deus by memory after only hearing it twice. He then sent his manuscript to an English publisher. At the time, private ownership of that piece was banned by the church. His publication forced the church to lift the ban. Imagine that, though. Only hearing the piece twice, and being able to jot it down perfectly.

Having spent twenty minutes viewing postings from the USA - all of them bearing witness to the sheer lunacy of the views upheld by a significant proportion of the populace; and having, thereby, become increasingly depressed with the state of mankind, I have accidentally landed on this performance of sheer beauty and perfection; a flickering candle of hope in a mad world which seems to have lost its bearings. Where all that is brash threatens to annihilate the delicate, the fragile and the supremely beautiful. I thank you for this, and all your postings on ‘utube’; which, one might tentatively hope, will bring about a wider appreciation of this genre, and in so doing, enrich the lives of those who are fortunate enough to make the discovery. Long may you prosper in your noble work.
