Good video. Though a lot of it has been oversimplified, which makes sense. 1. Schrodingers cat isn't about the vial of poison. It is about poisoning the cat if something is in one quantum state vs another. The original used radioactive decay. Since quantum states exist in a superposition, it means both states are present simultanesouly, which implies the cat is both alive and dead. It was created by Schrodinger to bring quantum effects to the macro level, to illustrate how he found superposition to be absurd. 2. With Qubits, it isn't a matter of it being able to contain 2 bits. In that case, MLC NAND or other multi-level data systems have it beat using voltage levels. The trick is that a Qubit is in a sort of "fuzzy" state, where it can represent any combination of 1 or 0 each at different proportions. When Qubits interact, ALL of the states of one interact with ALL of the states of the other. So in terms of data, adding a 1 bit doubles the number of values each time. Adding 1 qubit SQUARES the number of values each time. It also has a really cool paralellism effect. Let's say you do an addition. With a binary system, an addition adds 1 known value to another known value, and produces a known value. When adding qubits, it would take every possible state of 1 qubit and adds it to every possible state of the other qubit. So if you were to do a physics simulation, it wouldn't simulate 1 case at a time. It would simulate every possible state of that physics simulation all at once. If you subscribe to the "many worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics, this would basically mean that when you perform a calculation, it is performing that calculation in multiple "universes" simultaneously. I'm a tad skeptical of that, but it does help with visualizing what is going on. The catch (besides the crazy physics) is that the states aren't deterministic. They are probabilities. So if the answer is 1% Yes and 99% No, it isn't going to simply give you "the answer" but will give you "AN answer", and you have to run it a whole bunch and measure the probability of each answer. The more you poll it, the more precise it gets. But it's impressive because it takes every state into account, which makes it phenomenal for optimization problems. It won't be replacing consumer electronics any time soon. But it could be useful for AI, because all neurons in a neural network could be calculated simultaneously.

🙄 the reason you can’t cure cancer is due to it being a complex disease, and not just one disease! There are more than 200 cancers, and every cancer is caused by a different set of mutations! If one has a tumor, as that tumor grows, more and more mutations occur. Every tumor has a completely different set of mutations. Not every cancer cell in a tumor will have the same genetic mutations as a neighboring cancer cell. That means that treatments can often kill one type of cell in a tumor, while others survive the treatment, allowing the tumor to grow again. Normal cells have certain mechanisms in place that stop them from growing or dividing too much. Cancer cells have lost these control mechanisms and can develop an arsenal of tricks to avoid being killed. The reason is quite simple, yet the cells are as complex as supermassive black holes, in the early universe. Cancer genes can even increase after a person or animal’s death! Fascinating! Absolutely amazing!

Quantum computers are going to be used mainly for surveillance. They will be able to pinpoint any dissenters within seconds no matter where they are. WIFI routers are already being used as sonar imaging. They know our body position in our own home, they know our furniture alignment but it takes a while to gather this data. Quantum will make these computations take seconds, not minutes to hours. This will be the main function. Attempting to shatter humanity and keep our fears controlling us for their gain. Knowing where their dissenters are so they can control them. This is for control and nothing else. We should all be paying more attention and not letting this happen but we are. The key to success is down to a coulomb. Program you quantum computer to realise PI contains the number decimal places that a coulomb has electrons. It was already comprehended long ago that it must end. With the computers we built it was easier to say Pi is infinite as they would have not been able to compute the total causing it to crash as they where not powerful enough to create a number so vast. It made it simple for the operating system thats all.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of Schrödinger's cat. You completely left out the most important part. Why do KZbinrs make it a habit to "educate" people on things they, themselves, know nothing about? The point about Schrödinger's cat is whether or not it is theoretically possible to bring the strange world of quantum mechanics (specifically, the superposition of subatomic particles) into the macro world of our everyday experience. This doesn't happen by simply putting a cat in a box with some poison; you need a trigger from the quantum world which will put the cat into superposition.

If you combine 2 cubits you get 4 bits of information - actually, there's one more axis (we live in a 3D world!), so there's X, Y & Z. So, by your own logic, it should be 3+3 = 6 bits (I think it's completely wrong to calculate it like this, btw). Also, a technicality - most/all existing devices can only measure along one axis (e.g. the Z axis, sensor is on the top). So, even if it's 6 bits or whatever, you have to do some "calculations", then rotate them and you can only get out two bits in the end. Also, it's not like you do it once - usually it's 500 or 1000 runs of the same, and you do an average, because errors can happen.

It's hard enough for the layman to really understand the binary computer, the quantum computer is much more difficult to grasp. I think this video has done the best job I've seen so far on explaining it. So basically the idea of quantum computers replacing regular computers would be like saying the787 jumbo jet is going to replace the Blackhawk helicopter because it's bigger, faster and more powerful. I think it would be pretty awesome if they could integrate a quantum computer with a regular super computer, so that it acts as a co-processor, like they do with GPUs. This just seems like the most logical way to implement a quantum computing system to me. That would eliminate the limitations of quantum computers, and the main limitations of regular computers.

Thanks for the information! There is an oxymoron, though, introducing the quantum level of the universe and at the same time using definite claims I might say about reality. I'm talking about the claim of knowing time to be linear, and measuring that total time to be 3 billion years, and claiming on the top of these assumptions that this is the first time we are crossing these frontiers. I just can't wrap my head around it. 😊 But as you said, we are now doing OUR baby step towards that understanding and of course our communication reveals several expired elements of certainty that is not necessarily the reality of the truth we are supposed to explore. Exploring the truth, you can't make too many assumptions.
