Moon Knight is impressive. And no wonder! Aside from an amazing cast, there was also an amazing director on board who got an incredible crew of Egyptian artists on board to see this thing through as authentically as possible. They had access to a well of knowledge when it came to things like hieroglyphics where they filmed. It’s hard to tell the mock-sets from the real ones, isn’t it? Moon Knight makes it a bit harder to guess than something like Spider-Man: No Way Home. But trust us, there are some sets that were built. Would you have been able to guess that wasn’t actually the British Museum in London? Or that literally none of that was shot in London? It had some geography errors going on for sure but we were shocked to find out it was all filmed in Budapest! And there was one crazy detail that would have complicated filming by like… a lot. They shot at some really cool locations though like Eltz Castle and Szentendre. There’s some really cool inspiration that went into the creation of Steven Grant’s apartment that would only come from the minds of geniuses in their field. That windy road in the show is host to an incredibly dangerous event. The restaurant was not in England but it sure was dolled up to look like Soho, which apparently isn’t as hard to do as you’d expect. It just takes good location scouts. Wadi Rum has been host to a number of Disney films and also to Oscar Isaacs on more than one occasion. The sets for the show are so freaking impressive but we owe it all to the director, Mohamed Diab for that two hundred page pitch bible he put together with his wife Sarah Goher before even landing the job!
