To me, this video is very similar to the Jumpsuit video, despite being way more colorful and happy. You see Tyler walking through this path (before, it was some sort of canyon and now it's a toy store), he sees something that makes him stop for a while (Jim, the dog/Josh on top of the canyon) then keeps walking towards something or someone that might not be that good for him (fake Josh/the bishop). He tries to scape, but ends up being dragged back. So we're still in DEMA, but it has evolved and it's not that weird squared building anymore, it's now colorful and bright and maybe enticing. Of course I might be way off, we never know

I have a theory: What if Choker and Shy Away is Demas version of what happened with Jumpsuit and Nico and the niners Choker = jumpsuit Music sounds more like TØP and Tyler’s not looking off camera very much he meets fake Josh (aka Nico) he attempts to run away but fake Josh catches him Shy away= Nico and the niners They are stuck in Dema and the concert that they do in the video is demas version of the Nico and the niners concert There are a few problems with this theory but it sorta makes sense if Josh is a clone or a representation of Nico however if it’s him pretending then it wouldn’t make as much sense.... In demas version Josh and Tyler are always alone

Yo I picked up on a couple things in that last verse I thought were sweet: "Like a little splinter buried in your skin, someone else can carve it out but when you've got the pin it hurts a little less and you can even push it further in" Idk if anyone else has ever had a splinter when they were younger, but I always HATED having my mom try to pull it out, it always hurt way more and I would insist on doing it myself, but I was like 6 so inevitably I would just push it further in and make things worse, but still it hurt less because I thought I was in control. Thought that was a sweet metaphor because a lot of times it seems like we can try to fix our own problems by ourselves because we feel like it's easier, even if we're just making it worse for ourselves than if we let other people help us out, which is often a lot more difficult (or "painful"). "The sun moves behind you, you get taller, bolder, stronger, and the rearview only blinds you" Just thought this was a cool double meaning, exactly how you pointed out but also just the imagery of how if you're driving and the sun moves behind you, looking into the rearview mirror you'll be looking into the sun and it's blinding. Ok so here is my theory: When Tyler and Josh met in the Nico And The Niners music video, they made their secret handshake, but in this video, they don't even talk to eachother, with makes up the theory that that's not Josh, its a clone made by a bishop of Dema. And when Tyler sees the Dema cup, he says "I need to move right now" and takes trash with him. My point is: I think trash is like Ned, Ned is Tyler's creativity and inspiration, so he takes trash when he notices he is in a trap, and a bishop is about to get him back to Dema.

You didn't mention the rap at the end it is similar to taxi cab from the self titled EP. the general theory is that after tyler tried to contact the banditos through the yellow payphone in shy away, he knows they won't get there in time. So when the whole set erupted, tyler's alone when the Bishops manifest in the form of a toy store (because he said in stressed out that he just wants to be a kid) and a fake josh. They tested him to see if he would actually surrender to dema and not take trash the dragon but since he did they turned him into a bobblehead. There's a million things left out but thats probably the general storyline between the 2 music videos

If the bishops have cause Ned to go missing, then Tyler could be stuck in dema and the bishops would have “broken the cycle in half.” Essentially, I think that maybe Tyler is trying to get ahold of Trash (another element of his imagination?) to be able to find Ned and get out of dema. However, it is very possible that ned is trash because in the ARG one of the words for that website thing (code 10 maybe?) was chrysalis which doesn’t yet apply to any lore.

For some to pick "that name" to write a book that from my understanding the ending is decided by the reader and the choices that THEY make is very intriguing. Tyler's creating genius being how it is...I find it hard to believe that he would "randomly" pick anything just to fill a void. Everything that I've come across with his music and cryptic messages all guide the listener in the direction he wants. I think this video and era is mostly about Tyler’s imagination and creativity. That tiny blue dragon (Tyler named him Trash) sits in his home studio and was beside him when he created the album. There’s an interview where he talks about how he can make the dragon alive flying around his room if he imagines it. Here Josh is turning things back into toys, so he’s doing the opposite. The clone theory holds up considering the dog is Josh’s beloved dog Jim, and real Josh wouldn’t want to zap his dog into a toy.

The first thing that stood out to me is how much more of a role Josh has in this video - he's typically just in the background on the drums while Tyler interacts with the camera Josh is obviously who is shrinking everything into the case (that's Josh's real dog btw) Trash (the dragon) has already been shrank when the video starts - Does this mean Josh has control of Trash? Does Tyler know this and so he is trying to free Trash? I think once we get a really good understanding of Trash it will help a lot on both videos - it does seem like there is some symbolism similar to Levitate/Jumpsuit where Tyler is being dragged back into Dema after trying to escape - the weird thing is what is Josh - is Josh under the control of Dema? I'm not sure I believe it's a "second Josh" - i think it's more like Josh has given up and is now doing what the bishops want Also at the end of "Shy Away" there is that bright blue light when everything comes crumbling down - similar to what we see when Josh is shrinking everything here This was shot in Columbus right down the street from where Ned's Bayou was set up and you can clearly see Ned and the "Have you seen him?" on the store front as the video starts No one knows what's 100% going on yet until more videos/clues drop, so be wary of people who say they know 100% for sure everything that's happening as it's mostly theories still

So yea theres a theory that this isnt Josh, also theres a bunch of items like the Good day dema mug, and the book Josh is reading is called “If” by Nicholas Bourbaki and at the beginning there’s a pic of Ned saying “have you seen him” Ned represents creativity so that means that Tyler’s creativity is missing. The dragon represents Imagination or the releasing of imagination. The dog is just Jim Dun but it’s possible he could have a role as well I think it was just to paint the mystery of Josh turning things into toys. So essentially Tyler went into the store to free his imagination and stole it from, possibly a clone of Josh, and failed.

Hi Ernst. Yeah we fans have not found out yet the storyline to this new album. So lyric/video interpretation right now is just guessing. All we know is it's a continuation of trench album story (about city of Dema) and May 21 album/performance are propoganda for Dema. TOP drop bits and clues so we're trying to figure it out and there are many theories. So all i can say is visit past TOP comments that explain trench album story, and then currently you'll be at the same place as us ((not knowing what the pooop is going on!🙂)). When I first watched this I thought the Dragon represents creativity or artistic value. Since the dog was real before it got turned into a toy that means the dragon must have been real as well. And Tyler must have some reason to want to get it (back?). Since the figurines are there for sale, it means that whatever go turned into a toy is now commercialized for profit. That's why Tyler can't just take it with him, cause he has to pay the price. This could figuratively stand for Tyler's creativity (essentailly TOP's music) being abused and commercialized by the music industry (or dema if you want to get into that). And since dema (or the music industry) can't allow him to get back what makes him able to create something artistic to him (because then he might break out or not rely on dema/music industry anymore) they have to hold him captive until he as a person gets commercialized and abused for profit (at the end he is a toy as well). That's what I interpreted into this. Keep in mind I am not that deep into TOP lore so this could all be bs.

To me, it feels like this is a super condensed version of the Trench trilogy. He notices the danger, tries to flee, then gets captured again. It’s the same cycle of events but more personal now that it’s “Josh” instead of a bishop doing it. Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one who has to look at the needles going into my arm. If I don’t then i tense up from the surprise as odd as that sounds.
