As a Laker fan, especially during the 2000 season, I always felt nervous when Shaq goes to the bench for a breather, coz I know the other team will make a run to cut the lead or even take it.

Shaq had 40 points, 24 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Shaq did not live up to his full potential because of longevity because he did not take basketball as serious as he should have. But this 3peat shaq is insane. The only other player I'd take over this shaq is Jordan. And that's a toss up.
@MrXennon1 Жыл бұрын
He also didn't live up to his potential because this wasn't his max potential. He didn't take diet nor training serious.

Pacers fan here, but even I have to admit that we didn’t really have a chance against this Lakers team. Even with an injured Kobe.
@richardhenry58583 жыл бұрын
Looking back on it, these teams weren't very good. Yeah, LA had Shaq/Kobe but a bunch of older players. Harper, AC Green, Horry, Grant - the Bryant/Gasol/Bynum/Odom teams were way better and faced better competition than the Pacers, the AI 76ers, and the Nets. The true finals every years was between San Antonio and LA, the East was trash. Kobe and Shaq didn't have the competition, very unimpressive looking back on this version of LA.

Competition ? ? 2009 WCSF: Rockets vs Lakers ( 3:4 ). - No T-Mac. -Yao Ming was injured and Missed 4 games. *Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom vs Ron Artest, Aaron Brooks and Luis Scola.* Still needed 7 games to beat the Rockets. Lol. The competition in the West ( 2000-2004 ) was crazy.

Costas also said at least in the short run, which was definitely true at the time. Lakers can handle not having Kobe for 2 games in the series, Shaq got it covered. Plus they had Glen Rice (who I hated back then because he didn't want to return to LA in the summer and went to NY instead). That's why Kobe coming back in Game 4 was great timing for the Lakers.
