In today's vlog we head to Walt Disney World's Polynesian Village Resort to check in for our Disney Bucket List staycation! We were so excited to check into our Polynesian Bora Bora Bungalow! We never thought this was a place we'd ever get to actually stay! We start our trip with a full and detailed tour of the bungalow followed by some lunch at Capt Cooks the quick service restaurant located at the Polynesian. Then we got dinner to go from Kona Cafe which we enjoyed back in out bungalow. We show you around the resort a little bit and then we end out the night. We can't wait to share the rest of our staycation with you! We hope you enjoyed the tour and we will see you tomorrow with another staycation video!

Fun fact about the separate commodes and showers: across Polynesia, it is a massive faux pas to have a commode and a shower in the same room. The commode is Tapu (taboo or negative energy) for obvious reasons; it’s a waste receptacle. Whereas the shower is Noa (good/positive energy) because you use it for cleansing. And the two are not allowed to mix, since one neutralises the other. Most modern buildings in NZ try to incorporate this aspect into their construction. I really like that Disney was sensitive to the cultural aspects, even something that’s subtle enough that if you weren’t familiar with Polynesian culture, you wouldn’t think it was a deliberate decision.

She stood on top of the enchanted tiki room in California! the bird on top of her is the barker parrot, who would call guests in, again, like the one in the pirates of the carribean in California Edit: I forgot to add something! The torch she holds is part of her story. She taught Polynesian mortals how to fish by holding a torch over their heads to lure the fish to the light! the torch was also lit when she stood on top of the tiki room!

totally agree with why you like this way of giving the tour, but do you not enjoy just seeing the pristine state of the room upon arrival, and the excitement of whats to come? when the tour is given after the stay, the negatives are kind of a bummer. now idk about you, but i am not trying to book a bungalow anytime in the near future, so i enjoy the positivity of just living vicariously, rather than if I were to book any time soon!

so when I did my college program in 2018 me and my friends walked around the three resorts by the MK and we went to the Polynesian and we wanted to take a photo on the beach and so we asked this lady if she could take our photo and she did! After the photo we talked to her for a bit and she said how she is staying in the bungalows with her husband and daughter and she asked us if we wanted to take photos on the porch of her bungalow! we were so excited and she gave us a whole tour of their place and the husband and daughter were so confused as to why their wife/mom brought it a bunch of girls in their early 20s to take photos on their porch swing and hot tub 😂 but it was so amazing and I want to stay here one day!

The character in the painting is Uti, goddess of fishing!! Before the tiki room facade in Disneyland collapsed, she was in a canoe above it. She holds a torch that in the beginnings of Disneyland was lit 24/7.

Hey! that's me and my wife at 32:09 . We are at the table on the left hand side with the server talking to us. We got to meet Tim on way out! Was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation! We have watched Tim and Jen for years, they are like part of our family. Every day I come home and ask my wife "What are Tim and Jen up to today?" and then we watch their vlog. I’m 18 and we go to Disney 2 times a year. I’ve slept in that lol o and stitch little bed over 13 times in my life😂 it’s so peaceful looking at that artwork while falling asleep and hearing the water and the poly ambiance

We saw the trackers at capt cooks and they are so nice!! Was afraid to ask for a picture during the social distance time but Jen was nice enough to stop what she was doing and talk to us for a few minutes while getting our food!

When he's reary, you could cut up chicken in small pieces, bread it in Sprinkled Cheese and Bake for Chicken Nuggets. That way, he won't get all the stuff restaurants add to the nuggets. They'll be 100% pure.

It would be Terrible just to see Jackson Choke on Anything it happened when I was young I choked on Miachriellea sticks it came with sauce and I just choked on it. I choked on an ice cube while visiting a family friend when I was maybe 8? My mom had no idea what to do other than whack me on the back, which our family friend told her not to do. She did the Heimlich maneuver on me and got it out. It was pretty terrifying.

We’ve been wanting to stay in a bungalow at the Poly for so long! While it looks pretty awesome, the bugs turn me off a little. The cabin seemed much nicer to sit outdoors because it was screened. Maybe we’ll stay at the Poly in a regular room 🤷🏼‍♀️

Gregg B. The way to make these bungalows “affordable” (ha!) is through Disney Vacation Club. We’ve done a split stay with 4 days in a studio at the Polynesian and 3 days in the bungalows when we needed to use up our points. We’re staying for 5 nights at Christmas in the bungalows because, again, we need to use up our points since our trip earlier this year got canceled. Frankly, I don’t know how anyone can actually pay cash for these - they’re ridiculously expensive. I’ve read that the Hollywood people stay there when they visit. DVC helps us regular folks have some fun. Hope this helps.

Tip toeing around and making the room pitch black while Jackson is sleeping is only going to do more harm than good. Start making noise and letting some light in so he doesn’t wake at the sound of a pin drop.

It's possible it's how he sleeps better. Could be a lite sleeping baby right now. When I was his age I had to sleep on soft bedding or pillow and have a fan. My mom could vaccum in front of me and i kept sleeping.

I love this video! It is very informative. It would be great if you guys could take advantage of the low crowd and do more of these. Would love to see you three at other resort staycations and trying the food at those resorts like Bay Lake Tower, Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Copper Creek, etc..... Love your videos, staying at a bungalow is my dream. We faithfully follow your videos and love them! When I used to do photography, we'd use a purple filter over the lens to counteract the yellow cast from incandescent lighting. Maybe that's a possibility for your lenses?

That big sound comes from what’s called a Sump Pump, it pumps water out once it reaches a certain level. We became very familiar with them when we lived in a basement apartment!

Yes! I looked it up and for a Saturday night in October 2020 it's $727 before taxes. The most we've ever paid for a room was $400, which we can afford but have only done it for special times (like an anniversary and a stay ON the beach).

Hi Tim Tracker, the pump noise you hear in the closet is a sewage Ejector pump, it collects and pumps out when full so you are correct, there is a pump in that closet! Love your review!

That microwave/oven combo is an awesome addition. I had one in my house up north in addition to my regular stove and one memorable Thanksgiving where we had dozens of people, that extra oven made the cooking possible. It's good to know those bungalows have that option. Very nice. Here's to one day being able to host a large celebratory dinner somewhere! I love your presentation.

The Tiki god that keeps coming up looks like Uti, there’s a statue of him on one of the walkways at the Polynesian resort, and also he used to be on top of the tiki room entrance over at Disneyland but removed during the cost cutting days because he held an actual flame there.

Awesome bungalow. I’m lucky too. I’ve traveled all over the world. I haven’t been on a vacation in awhile. I’m not complaining. Your trips are a fun alternative though. Jackson’s chubby cheeks are adorable. he’s so big! I met the artist who made the tiny Mickey and Minnie painting at an art show featuring him in St. Petersburg, fl. He also made the Mickey and Minnie paintings with the old style wood sided cars on a beach, very similar to the tiny one. They’re featured in Hawaii.

That tank behind the washer/dryer is a sewage ejector pump; we have one in our basement to run used water up to our septic tank. Cool video!

Hello Tim just wanted to update you on the sewer system in the bungalows, it’s called a Air Vac System it uses vacuum to vacuum out the sewer from the bungalow. You are correct sewage goes into a tank and once it reaches a certain amount of pressure it tells the system to open a valve that has continuous vacuum to suck out all the sewage.

The cost isn't bad if you do like they did and book dedicated reservations on DVC rental sites. Right now I can get a bungalow for $6170 for 5 nights in October! About a third of the cost compared to rack rates. I love that they are trying to help folks out by purchasing trips they can't take so they don't lose out on money.

Tim, that tiki guy you were asking about in the bungalows is Uti, the goddess of fishing. It was a tiki statue that sat in a canoe on the tiki room show building in Disneyland for a long time. Alongside the infamous Barker Bird.
