Desperately Seeking HHN at Universal Studios Orlando & Lunch At Toothsome Chocolate Emporium!

Tim heads to Universal Studios Orlando today desperately in search of Halloween Horror Nights clues, props, anything in the park! HHN is only a month away and we still know very little about this years event but we can't wait! It's definitely our most favorite time of year in the theme parks! We find a stage for Rock the Universe that could be used for HHN also, maybe. Then we see the lights in the building tops and around the park. Haunt season is almost upon us and we are so excited! Then after we check out the new ride construction updates for Fast & Furious we head out. We have some lunch at Toothsome's Chocolate Emporium and call it a day! We hope you enjoyed the vlog! You should definitely stay at Royal Pacific! It's beautiful and super relaxing, lots of restaurants, lots of room, rooms are new, and you get Unlimited Express! I've stayed there three times, September will be my fourth. I've visited the other resorts to eat and explore while staying at the Royal Pacific and I'm most impressed by it every time over the others. Y'all explored it a couple years ago, now you should stay! Anyway, y'all are awesome!

I agree. I think it is the cheapest of the deluxe hotels, The walk to the parks is pretty easy. We are staying there next month for just one night. They told us we could check in around 8:00am (room of course won't be ready) so you can get your express pass and (as I understand it) you can use it to closing on the next day. If true, this would be 2 days of express for just one night stay! Good job Universal!

Awakened Soul I understand 😊. Any resort like these every thing is high price. Our room was $240 ( probably plus resort fee?), we can walk in, 2 days of express passes, and early admission - help justify the extra costs for us.

I stayed at the Royal Pacific last year and it was great. The walk to the parks was not bad at all, especially considering you have to walk around all day anyway, but you can also take the water taxi (good for after a long day at the parks). It was moderately priced and the theming was awesome. You also receive express tickets which REALLY come in handy for short wait times and you can only receive this for no extra charge if you stay at this hotel or the ones higher in price. All in all, I think it's the best value for hotels at Universal and highly recommend it.

I stayed at portifino bay, and it was awesome! Large rooms, giant areas to sit and eat, or Jerusalem relax, awesome boat ride to the park, and the walk is only 5 minutes!

HARD ROCK that's the only place we stay and it's amazing not only is the walk short the pool is amazing super fun all the rock 'n' roll memorabilia is awesome and the rooms are very cool as well you can't even measure yourself to the height of other past rock 'n' roll/pop stars

I stayed at the hard rock about a year ago and absolutely loved it! The rooms were very spacious and clean and I loved all of the decor with rock memorabilia. My brother loves guitar so it was cool for him to be able to rent one from the hotel and play it while we were on vacation. In addition the short scenic walk to the parks was a relaxing way to start our morning before a busy day, and it let us go to our rooms throughout the day if need be and rest for a little, then return to the parks/city walk at night with no problem!

I heavily recommend Hard Rock for anyone staying only a couple nights. However, if you are having an extended stay, Portofino is superior. I would recommend staying at any of the 3 older hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino, Royal Pacific) over Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls due to the free Unlimited Express Pass

Honestly? Royal Pacific seems to be the best deal of them all. It's closer than Portofino, there are boats or the walk to CityWalk which is super short, the air conditioning is the best of any of the hotels, the rooms are a fantastic size, the food options are pretty neat in the place itself, the pool is the least busy of all the ones on the resort, in my experience, the hotel is on of two (I think) to give the unlimited Fast Track and early access to Harry Potter worlds (the other being Hard Rock), and it's just a generally nice atmosphere where it's ALWAYS very quiet and relaxing. Portofino and Cabana Bay can get kind of loud and busy, and Hard Rock feels cramped.

I stayed at Royal Pacific and it is by far my least favorite of the three pools at the deluxe resorts. It's just way too hot and it was also just as crowded as the others. It seemed much more tailored for very young kids. I actually ended up walking over to Hard Rock pool.

First off I would like to say me and my girlfriend are huge fans of you and Jenn , and we watch your videos all the time! We originally started watching your videos to get some information on an upcoming horror nights trip last year, when after a long search on KZbin for information we came across your videos. They were absolutely the best by far when it comes to attention to detail, having the most steady camera hand , being great at finding the balance between being informative yet not overbearing and just being downright cool ass hosts who are a lot of fun to watch so now we're hooked, we watch your videos now just for fun.... okay enough schmoozing , anyway i would 100% recommend staying at Royal Pacific because between getting a free fast pass for every day you stay for all guests , being a short boat ride away from the parks, the fact that it is a beautiful generally quiet hotel with a nice pool that does really fun movies at night (that you can watch in the pool! ) its really unsurpassed in quality at universal . Also the food at the bar by the pool is delicious and inexpensive drinks are fairly priced too and the savings in park to park fast pass almost pays for the hotel itself. Ok guy keep up the good work sorry for such a long comment just the first time responding to a video question :)

Tim, I stayed with my grown-up son at Cabana Bay in May 2016. It's only a 6-minute shuttle bus ride to the parks, so that's no biggie, and this year they added a special entrance to Volcano Bay right outside the resort. I can't wait to stay at the tower rooms that overlook the volcano. The food court was fine, there's a huge arcade, and there's bowling and a fantastic fitness room for those so inclined. Also the decor is so much fun with a '60s style, they park early '60s classic cars out front, and the giant screens in the eating area show many fun ads and TV show clips from the '60s, as well. If you're on a budget, this is way better than you'll get at most destinations.

We just got back from our trip, staying Rock Royalty at the Hard Rock. It was amazing. The pool was super fun and big, the lobby area was pretty cool and it had such a cool atmosphere. Being able to walk or take the boat was super convenient and we had some awesome boat captains. For us, going in summer, one big draw of Hard Rock was the availability of express, which was way better than fastness at Disney and great for making sure we got everything we wanted to done. Also, we're a family of huge music fans and we play guitar, so the guitar rental service made the trip super fun. We've also stayed at Portofino twice, which is great too, but having stayed at Hard Rock I would definitely choose HR again.

My boyfriend works at universal so we get the hotel rooms way cheaper. Although if I did have to pay for one hotel room full price it would be the hard rock! It's really worth spending alittle extra for the rooms. There is never a bad view in any of the rooms you stay in. The hotel rooms are very nice! One of the rooms we stayed in had a tall mirror showing the heights of how tall celebrity's are. The tv in the rooms are always playing music videos. You walk on a really nice pathway from the hotel to the parks. If you don't want to walk you can always pay for the bike riders to transport you there. Of course you can always take the boat. The pool at hard rock is amazing! Its always great to stay in the hotel last thrusday of the month for velvet sessions. Also the hard rock has a beautiful garden area you can walk around. So if you don't want to pay the price for the rooms I suggest you just go check out the lobby, the garden and the pathway! :)

Tim, a few months ago you gave a top tip of when leaving Magic kingdom. You said take the monorail that goes to the resorts as no one uses this on as they don't the no it stops at the ticket and transportation centre. We stayed at Portofino and Hard Rock. Both exceptional hotels. With that said, I would stay at Hard Rock. The last time we stayed there, we used our AAA discount and scored a room on the concierge level which turned out to be cheaper than if we had booked a standard room on another level without the discount. Always check to see if they have a AAA discount! They had bed turn downs at night with dimmed lighting and music playing. The kids got mad because someone had been in our room, until they found that chocolates were left on the pillows and housekeeping left Hard Rock CD's and inflatable guitars. It was also the first hotel we stayed in that had the Dive-In Theater in the pool at nightfall.

Hard Rock is my second favorite because the rooms are relatively big, theres always something to do by the pool, and you get the free express pass. I have heard from people working there however that its better just to stay at cabana bay because if you book a room and then just buy the express pass yourself it's cheaper. They also have very big pools/lazy river, a bowling alley, and big game room so if you decided not to go to the parks you could spend your whole vacation there. Their rooms are also HUGE.

We chose Cabana Bay this past January 8-12 since it was basically off season and crowds were lower. We chose it for the price plus the extra bed since our young adult son and daughter do not share a bed when we travel. Travel to and from the park was super convenient and really didn't take long at all. We needed to stay one more day to really appreciate all the resort had to offer. We did swim in each pool during our stay and we had some fun in the lazy river. If we would have chosen May over January (which was option 2), we would have looked at the least expensive resort that offers front of line privileges for guests. That benefit really wasn't necessary the week we chose.

We stayed at Royal Pacific a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it (it was our first time staying on Universal property). The boats were constant, the walk was only 10 minutes to the park, and you get the free Express Pass included with your stay that you don't get at Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls!

We stayed at Cabana Bay for our first Universal visit in June and we loved it. They upgraded us to a family suite because it was my 40th birthday. I have always been a ride or die Disney fan...I mean, you just can't beat their theming...but Cabana Bay really, really impressed me. I'd stay there even if we weren't going to Universal. We want to stay at Hard Rock pretty badly, so I would say Hard Rock! We've stayed at Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific both already and between those two, we liked Royal Pacific the most. My mom stayed with us at Portofino once and she LOVED the cannolis there. She eats them each time we go. Portofino was nice, but the rooms felt a little older. As far as Royal Pacific goes, we really loved staying there! We got a special for our honeymoon when we stayed there for about five days. It was totally worth it.

I've stayed at the Portofino bay 3 times and I absolutely love that hotel. I think I might like it more than any WDW hotel. The rooms are awesome (get the deluxe room with the separate shower and bathtub if you can!), the restaurant there is great, and the ambiance is unbeatable. My favorite thing is the gondola singers at night. Surprised to hear Hard Rock is more expensive.

I've stayed at both the Portofino and hard rock a few times. I really prefer Portofino and if you take the boat shuttle it really doesn't make a difference how far it is. The rooms and overall ambiance is way better than at the hard rock. It's less crowded and much more relaxed and the hard rock always seems packed. Also the whole theme is just so beautiful!

I would stay at Portifino bay, before I moved here to Florida, I always stayed there and loved it. They have an amazing pool with great views. And it's cheaper than hard rock. If you wanted to visit the hard rock pools your still allowed too. Plus the ride to the park isn't that long and it's fun on the boat. Hope that helped, Your #1 fan

cabana bay is by far my favorite hotel of them all. its the best themed and has a very nice pools. plus if you are staying at any of the on site hotels you can use the other hotels facilities so there really no point is spending the extra money for something you can use at a cheaper price.

Cabana Bay might not be the fanciest or most spacious, but for the price, it's great! I've stayed twice, and I honestly think that its worth more than what you pay! Aside from the two amazing pool areas; it's always fun and energetic. The 50s theming is really well done throughout the entire hotel, and the team members are always super helpful and polite. I also find that they separate younger and older guests, so all ages can enjoy their stay without worrying about who's across the hall. Cabana Bay is definitely a great choice if you're staying on the resort property!!

I have been to loews royal pacific. I am now going to Hard rock. I guess i'd would pick cabana bay now

I've stayed at every hotel besides Portofino and I'd say Hard Rock was my favorite. The pool is awesome, different areas of the hotel have different scents which I really like, its ridiculously close and you get the express pass free. The price is pretty high however I think it's worth it, as long as you take some time to walk around and appreciate what's there as far as memorabilia goes, and spend some time at the pool.

Watching this vlog makes me realize how much I miss Universal. Even though we were just there 2 weeks ago, I'm ready to go back! We stayed at Sapphire Falls and the water taxis were awesome. They upgraded us to a Hospitality King Suite, which was amazing. Two years ago we stayed at Cabana Bay. The buses really weren't all that bad and the room was nice that we stayed in. Between the two, we would stay at Cabana Bay again over Sapphire Falls. The theming was much better and overall we had more fun. That being said, I would love to stay at Hard Rock.

Hi Tim and Jenn! We stay onsite at Universal 4 or 5 times per year. I love the Hard Rock Hotel, but Royal Pacific is just a five minute walk to Citywalk, so it works well. The benefit of Portofino, Hard Rock, and Royal Pacific is express pass at the parks, but that doesn't apply to HHN. So unless you're going to the parks during the day, it's not of much value. I'd suggest Sapphire Falls. It's on the boat route and costs less because it doesn't offer the express pass your probably not going to use anyway. I'd suggest saving Cabana Bay for a Volcano Bay weekend. It's always great seeing you at the parks, hope to see you at HHN. HHN express this year!

We love the Hard Rock .... 5 minute walk and your in, you get free unlimited express passes as well and it has a great theme. We stayed there for HHN 25 and loved it so much that we are coming back to do a week at the Yacht Club at Disney and a week at Hard Rock for HHN 27.

HARD ROCK HOTEL HANDS DOWN! Parents took my brothers and I there when it first opened back in like 99 and we haven't gone anywhere else since! Cannot wait to get back there
