The goat on big thunder is a focal point to help passengers handle the g-forces being pushed on them by the centrifugal force of the turn. Since it sits at the center of the axis of rotation and is high and away while the ride itself starts high and goes low the staring at the goat causes a feeling of a reverse gravitational pull. So in the end, even though your body is being pushed by the g-force your mind is tricking you into a feeling of being pulled into the turn. Sort of like when a jet fighter pilot looks up when they bank and turn.

I spent nineteen years of my life in Southern California and I have to say, Disneyland Cast Members are very special. I've been blessed to participate with Music in Parks, work backstage with dance cast members, and spend Grad Night there. This place will always feel like home to me. What you two have in FL is special as well with all the other Disney Parks, but the Disneyland will always be the best kingdom for me.

I don’t know how I went down the rabbit hole of watching your older vlogs with your first trios visiting Disneyland! I grew up going to Disneyland and it always has my heart. I love WDW too but there’s just something special about Disneyland. Sadly now in November 2020...it’s closed. I can’t wait for you guys to be able to take your sweet Jackson to Disneyland ❤️

Goat effect as it's known at Dland is a added feature of Big Thunder mountain....you keep your eyes on the goat all the way around the bend... the back is the best use of goat effect and one of my favorite thrills at Disneyland! You gotta get in the last cart and also crank your body to the right and even turn around ( keep your feet and arms inside at all times) and watch the track behind you.... that next turn also keep the position and get the cyclone effect! I worked at Disneyland for two and a half years and they were the best of my life! More magic than I can even handle! Love your videos... I feel like I'm home!!! Thank you guys!

Definitely. Especially since they don't have magic bands. I normally go to disney world but this will be my first time at california and disneyland. It will take some getting used to especially with the paper fast passes but i'm so excited to see where it all started.

Look away from the goat! The mushroom in front of Alice was the ticket takers booth. When you needed different letter tickets to ride. ie: E-ticket ride like Space MT.

For those who don't know what the goat trick is: When you go up the second chain lift and see the goat with the TNT in it's mouth, you follow him with your head never taking your eyes off him. This will create an effect similar to being flushed down a toilet. You're essentially tricking your inner ear into interpreting the G-forces a different kind of way. A lot of people that do it sit in the back of the train as it pulls harder, enhancing the effect.

Hey Tim & Jenn, former Disneyland CM here, and I've been to WDW 5 times, and I definitely think that the Disneyland CM's overall do a better job of making the parks feel a little bit more magical. Part of that is probably pride in working in the park that Walt actually walked in, and part of that is probably logistical -- WDW has to hire A LOT more staff to keep their parks and hotels up and running, and they probably can't be as selective or demanding.
