When I lived at home we had water that came from a well and it was very hard water. Once I moved out and have town water supply I noticed a drastic difference with my hair and skin. I think you’ll really love it!

Re: the ice cream maker, it will only make it like soft serve. Tips - freeze the drum 24hrs, don't add extras until it's almost soft serve. Should only take about half an hour to freeze to soft serve. I recommend the Cuisinart or Kitchen Aide drum you can use with the stand mixer.

Also mixing up the ice cream the day before and chilling it overnight in the refrigerator in the coldest part the refrigerator helps a lot too.

I’ve been a silent subscriber but I live in Florida too and boy do we have hard water the chlorine can be smelled a mile away. A water softer and purifier is the way to go we have one it’s been a game changer. You guys are going to love it ! The kids are so big already it’s unbelievable . 🩷

Trackers, a couple years ago we got a water softener and carbon filter (to take the chlorine out as we are also in FL) and it was money well spent. Taking a shower and washing your hands does feel slippery but you will get used to it. The benefits are really good. Jen mentioned hair and one more thing is you probably wont need to use fabric softener in your laundry anymore.

I live in NJ and my hubby bought the house water filtration system and was told all that positive stuff. I never noticed any difference in my hair or skin. Our water always tasted fine so that was never an issue. Good luck with yours!!

For the bikes- they have hooks that go on the wall- The tires rest against the wall- not the ceiling. They are really easy to put up / take down.

So I think anyone in Florida getting water softener and filters is a great idea. Tim with this if your hose hook up is now soft when you was your cars no more water spots or will help with that. And over all drinking better water for yourself Jenn’s hair will do sit better. I always love coming home after going to Orlando and taking a real shower in Ohio

We had to get a water filtration and softening system (live in NJ) bc our water was poisoned and we had a baby. It was so nice to just use water from our house rather than bottled jugs! You’ll love the way your skin feels ❤

Water filtration is a great thing to do. Also another good filter for your drinking and cooking water is a Berkey water filter. Does your HOA allow you to have a shed in your backyard? That would be a huge help to your full garage issue. Costco has some really nice ones.

The water here in Southwest Louisiana is very hard as well. I clean houses and buy some cleaners that help dissolve minerals.

I work in a bike shop, the Pullies for bikes are great for displaying bikes or if you're only riding it a few times a year. but that's about it. The wall hooks are your best option, but you need multiple per bike.

The filter system (ours in a different one) will make a big difference! Even with your cloths. If you use liquid fabric softener you will want to use a little less. Once the sticker shock wears off it will be well worth it.

The little cars discussion reminded me of the cars in Richard Scarry....particularly that of Lowly Worm. I wonder how many cylinders it had. I absolutely loved the Grand Adventures of the Great and Wonderful Bolt. You need to write a book. I would buy it. The older three Trackers would be listed as authors. Oliver would get credit on the Audible book...maybe as the Bolts evil twin with that laugh. Heh heh heh heh.

I have the same crappy water down in Lake Wales. My hair is so dry and no shampoos make any lather. I'm constantly cleaning the deposits off with vinegar. Keep us posted on the new filter.

We have a similar ice cream machine. We whip the cream till thick then add in any flavourings then churn for 10 mins and it’s like soft serve and then freeze and it’s hard pack. Cocoa powder in for choccy flavour 😂 ❤ we use condensed milk (instead of sugar) and cream in the UK. 👍

I recommend the Cuisinart ice cream maker and prefreeze my clean bucket 48 hours prior to use. It takes less than 20 mins to set and u need to get the ice cream out and into a container STAT, or it will hard freeze to the walls. I reduce amount of sugar in every recipe, or use bananas or dates puree to sweeten ice cream.

Water- Nova Scotia, we dont have the britta whole house system but do have a salt based water softener for 20 yrs. Until u get a good idea of suds really reduce ur laundry soap. I use 1/8 of the amount of liquid laundry detergent -HE. Or I have to rinse and spin after wash to remove the suds from wash. FLA H2O is bad but I have seen worse...water with sour gas in the well system in rural Alberta Canada (I wonder with the oil connection if Texas water is like that).

Regarding the ice cream-put the milk/cream/sugar mix in the freezer for about 15 minutes before you add it to the frozen drum. And don’t pull the drum out of the freezer until you’re ready to start mixing. It will be like soft serve the first day and closer to hard packed the next day.

YES to the whole house water filter. I want one too. The hard water is bad for your skin and hair. And they are only required to remove a certain percentage of chlorine from the water, so there is always some amount left. Also, make sure it has at least 99% removal of micro plastics. Those are also bad for you. Most water filters have that.

We make something I call Lazy Cream. It’s WAY easier than ice cream but tastes like it. 2 cups heavy cream, 14oz sweetened condensed milk. 1 TB of extract flavoring (vanilla, mint, coconut….) add max 2 cups of stir ins. To make chocolate add ½ cup unsweet cocoa. So much better than chocolate syrup. Just mix up and put in freezer. I bought a glass snap top container. So easy, lazy :) and customizable.

Interesting about the baby swim lessons. My baby started at 6 months and is now 18 months but most of the classes in NYC don't submerge them (which seems to defeat the purpose of baby swim classes). 1 year later and my baby still hasn't had a lesson where she has to hold her breath, except to blow bubbles.
