Noah did such a good job with this interview, he’s a super fan and he really knows her work. Tori is a magical human being and it was so good to hear her speak and answer such thoughtful questions.

I seem to remember that got mixed reviews, which seems funny in hindsight. Maybe they wanted a guy to have the gun. Who knows. I'm glad you can't wear out a CD... I was just listening to copies of songs from that CD, that made it to my phone via a couple mix CDs that I made, from albums and singles up to Boys for Pele... those copies started out in the late 90s! I need to buy the new album. I didn't know she made a Cornish album, but I could hear it so clearly in the brief clips in the NPR interview. Why didn't anyone tell me she made a Cornish album?! Er... why did t anyone tell me there was an interview tour to tell me (and everyone) about it? Better late than never.

Great interview with a great lady. Always loved I can't see New York and at a meet and greet I told her how much that song moved me and what I thought it meant. I asked if I was right and and she said " your interpretation is pretty spot on, and it's valid." I got my hug &I said " That's what David Lynch says about art!" "She said "Does he?" And winked at me. Such an approachable awesome lady.

This is the most earnest, natural interview I’ve ever seen with Tori. Maybe it’s because it was in her own home, or because she missed this type of interaction during the pandemic. What a treat! I feel like I really got to see her as a person vs. just an artist or some magical goddess. I really enjoy seeing her being so comfortable and open.

Oh my God! I thank him so much for asking these questions! This is everything I would have wanted to ask her. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful interviewer and a lover of Tori, because I devoured every moment of this. I even may have cried. Right before he asked about thematic writing on specific past albums vs personal and transparent writing on O2O, I was just shouting please ask her please ask her…and then he brought up that exact point. Perfect question. Excellent execution. I ate it all up- every minute. This. Is. EVERYTHING, especially for EWF’s who have been with her since the dawn of LE. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ And Oil Spill on the tour?!! Oh my God… I would eat that up oh my God we would all go crazy! #driveallnight

24:31 “Was she beginning dance class when I was killing it, killing it in the 90’s” gave me chills. The love triangle/betrayal theme seems to be one of her favorites and explored often since the early 2000’s (Wednesday, Another Girl’s Paradise, Parasol, Orange Knickers, Jamaica Inn, General Joy, Hoochie Woman-really all over TBK in general, Teenage Hustling, Almost Rosey, Fire to Your Plain…). Strangely these songs also feel like her most honest music about her relationship. Tori, we need Ballerina!

I didn't understood, is this song about she and Mark and their affair or...?
@eternalwanting
@eternalwanting Жыл бұрын
@@venusnode6 My interpretation of what she said: she was exploring the love triangle/betrayal theme and knew people in her life experiencing it. It sounds like she wrote about the love triangle/betrayal theme from their point of view but later embellished Ballerina's lyrics with her own relationship details ("when I was killing it in the 90's") to make it more interesting/give it "magic." I personally think, based on past interviews T has done and her own lyrics throughout the 2000's, that there was something like a love triangle going on in her relationship at some point in time--TBK era in particular. She has said before that she's hidden herself/her family behind characters in her songs to protect them. She's also said that Mark did not want her to write about him. I've always gotten the vibe that these love triangle/betrayal songs may be about their relationship but she is hiding it behind a character/singing about it like it's someone else's story because he does not want to be written about. This is all my interpretation though, not fact!

Thanks for speaking of the magic and protection that was created through sound for Kelsey. Such a beautiful gathering together of the power of sound and the power of community to protect and envelope her in this space and time. This particular part of the session inspires me and I will about this and about our power together since it also reminded me of a time when I was gathered together with a group of women in India on retreat in 2019. Our dance of Shiva stirred the cosmos that day and in those moments of sound and movement where we transcended any thoughts or feelings - it was incredible. It was also something that we can all call upon in our daily lives when needed.

I think, I think I know what caused me to put that into my bottom of the pile. And it's too much Anger being brought forth on the album. HOWEVER, there are some songs that I just love, ie., Jupiter, Doughnut Hole, and just a few anti anger management issues - except for Blood Rose's.

Thank you for taking the time to share this! Does anyone know if she's in her UK home or her Florida House. If the latter is true, well I only live 30 minutes or less from her home in FL. I've only seen the outside though. I think I would be a little bit unsure of going to say hi, but it's really insane to of grown up in the same County and City that her parent's lived in. A very modest and older home. However, her Florida home is like Ft. Knocks with all sorts of trees and tall garden plants along a gated residence, but it's the exact opposite of her folks' modest home when they lived in Florida. Anyway, that's my little, Toti amos

First, I love Tori. Back to earthquakes. I get confused when she starts talking about Witches, and different women, and conjuring. There is no judgment here, but can someone tell me what she is talking about? Every interview I watch, I hope she will give a glimpse into what she's talking about, and instead, I just get more confused. I remember one interview she talked about hallucinogens. Can someone shed some light on this? I feel like someone ripped a page out of my book, and I'm missing something that could unlock these songs on a deeper level?
