Thank you so much for this video. None of the other sources explained how the swiss travel pass works. I was so confused on where to apply the pass when booking the tickets. But after your video only i understood that we just have to show the pass and no need to buy any tickets. Thank you once again

Great video!! There isn't much advertising out there regarding regional passes. Our trip is planned for June 11-July 1. I plan on buying the half fare card as well as the Berner Oberland Pass. Our trip starts in Appenzell and our 3 night hotel stay provides us with an Appenzell holiday card, which covers our travel in that region. We're staying in Murren and the BO pass covers roughly half the distance to our next stop in Montreux. The Lake Geneva Pass covers the rest of the distance and all of our travel in that area. Thanks again.

Very good video, right on target! Just two little remarks about trains: it's obviously not the classiest thing to do, but it's not forbidden to spread your feet on the seat in front of you. A lot of people do it (mostly young people, I admit) from time to time. If you do it, however, it's important to take off your shoes (or put a newspaper under your feet). Under these conditions, no train agent will reproach you. And of course, you have to free the seat in front when the train fills up! In that It's the same thing for bags and suitcases... Please, no bags on the seat next to you or in front of you when the train is filling up, it's basic courtesy... and yet even at rush hour, some people wait for passengers to ask them if they can sit down to finally remove their bags. This is inexcusable! The second thing is, buying your train ticket in advance allows you to save a lot of money indeed, but not as much as you make it seem in the video. Most of the time, the discount is between 20 and 50% if you buy it more than a week in advance. In some rare cases, you can get 60% off, but I've never seen three times less than the regular price!

I'd probably go for either the Saver Day Pass or Interrail depending on how I'm visiting Switzerland. Former if I'm flying in and will also need bus or tram added in, latter if I'm coming in by train, as a 4-day global pass with Eurostar reservations would already pay for itself for the round trip from my local station in the UK alone, but to get bonus train travel within Switzerland with it makes it even better!
@mountainlover8302 жыл бұрын
Great tips for travelers, Alexis & Louis! Bottom line from my experience is that Swiss public transportation is SUPER! Between train, boat, & bus you can get to so many places, even many places that are off the beaten path (my favorite spots to go). Do note for your followers that the term "museum" includes most castles, the library at St. Gallen, and the wonderful open air museum of Ballenberg--a real deal! When faced with an entry fee just ask--you may be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Laura, if I buy my ticket on SBB apps, do I still need to validate the ticket at the station?

My boyfriend and I will be in Switzerland for two weeks in October and will be renting a car the whole trip. I planned out a circular route around the country and I’m thinking we will go with the Half Fare card. I feel like that’s the better option since we won’t be taking public transportation every day and will more so need it for any mountain gondolas. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips!

Hey guys - Thk God I found this channel & thk you for doing it. Quick story. We are a family of 5 (kids/adults-ages 24,22,18) & we love to travel & take advantage of the rare times we are all together. Unfortunately it’s always around the holidays, crazy expensive. This year we searched & threw around ideas where to go - long story longer -we are going to Switzerland. Very impromptu but we booked a week ago. Now it’s time to plan and luckily we came across your channel, which I’m starting to binge. But wanted to get your suggestion on how to attack. We will be there from 12/23-12/27 staying in Brienz on the lake. So we have about 3.5 days. We fly into Zürich. Ton of questions but I want to be respectful of your time and I think I can get most from your channel but I wanted to ask you with the time we have what itinerary would you put together to get the most of Switzerland? And by the way my son (24) would like to snow board. Any help is greatly appreciated. And what pass would you recommend

From there spend 3 days in Grindelwald, then head to Fussen Germany for a couple of days and finally head to Munich to end our trip. We are not renting a car, so all train travel. After watching your videos, it sounds like a good option would be to get Eurail passes and Top of Europe passes and that should cover most of the travels between locations.
