Thanks for this video. I've traveled from America to Basel many times as my aunt used to live there. I consider it to be a hidden gem of Switzerland. You uncovered a gem I hadn't discovered--Jacob's Basler Laeckerli! I'm putting it on my list for December when I visit the Christmas markets for the first time.

We went to Basel last week, in part because of this video ... and we took the Jakob's Basler Leckerly tour -- and told our guide Heinz that we learned ot if through your video.

We took the train to Basel only to catch a train to Colmar, France. Colmar is a wonderful little town about an hour or hour and a half from Basel. The change in culture from Switzerland to France was very interesting. 😊

Stayed for almost a month. The trams/trains very efficient. Food was great, shopping ❤ loved it. And also the weather is very nice. Hoping to come back again and visit my grandchild

Lovely guide to Basel, a city I love and visit often - thank you as this is being passed on to friends who want to visit! For others I’d also add that the Ethiopian food in Markthalle is as good as any I’ve eaten in Ethiopian homes - highly recommend! Also the Historisches Museum (Haus zum Kirschgarten) is another fun and fascinating museum to visit and I’ve often had it pretty much to myself which is wonderful!

Thank you for doing this! We just moved to Geneva two months ago and are looking for weekend trip ideas within Switzerland. Basel could be our first visit outside the Geneva canton! (Also, your daughter is adorable. Those pigtails, I can't even! 🙂)

Great video but I have a specific question. While you were in Basel did you happen to notice any Dinner restaurants that have old cable gondola cars that have been converted into a cozy spot for 2 or 4 people for dinner? I happen to see one on another KZbin video but no information was given and Google searches really render nothing much.
