AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted is the debut album by rapper Ice Cube.[1] It was released after his acrimonious split from his former group N.W.A. It was originally released on May 16, 1990. Primarily produced by Public Enemy's production team' The Bomb Squad, the album was an unexpectedly large critical and commercial success, and remains one of the defining hip hop albums of the 1990s.

I was in 9th grade when this came out on cassette. I played this so, so much in my Sony walkman that I almost wore the lettering off both sides of the tape from turning it over and over after listening to both sides. People over their late 30's will probably know what I'm talking about with the tape and the walkman. LoL. But I remember the hype leading up to this release. Ice Cube leaving NWA about a year before and this being his 1st solo release. It was more than anyone expected!! I still hold this and Death Certificate (His 2nd Release) as Cube's best works.

Yeah right. Most of the tracks of this album were supposed to go into Eazy E and NWA album. When Cube left the band he just brought all of his lyrics he wrote on his solo project. And that's how we get this album. He also asked Dre to produce this but Jerry Hallen gave is veto, so he went to NYC with the Bomb Squad... jackin' for beats.
