A great " how to" ,Ben!! There is so many applications for a point like that..! Good subject for you to explore!! Keep up the great work!! 🤙🐺🧙♂️🦊👍

Thank you my friend. I hope to play around a bit more with these points. I really like how they perform. The connection between the shaft and the drilled hole is the trickiest bit. I want to get better at consistently getting a tight friction fit that actually wedges tighter on impact. More practice to come for sure. This arrow is flying well and holding up good to repeat stump impacts. Always nice of you to watch and write GreyWolf! Talk to you soon! Ben

I'm sure that an antler point would be less prone to breaking when it hits a bone, compared to Flint, chert, or obsidian. 👍👍

Thanks Drason! These make for some really tough points capable of taking some real abuse. I like being able to shoot arrows a lot without having to do frequent repairs and maintenance. More work to come on these antler points! Thanks again for writing! Ben

Why haven’t I thought of that? That’s a pretty neat way to attach an antler tip. I’ve seen people fashion points out of bone before, don’t know why I never thought of using antler. Antler tips are really tough, you shouldn’t have to worry about it breaking to easily. Pretty cool, man. Hope you’re doing good buddy. Take care!

Hey Dale, always great to hear from you. Those antler points are like bulletproof. The hardest thing to get right about this is the connection between socket and the shaft. With primitive tools, this can take a bit of tedious trial and error. I decided to just drill it with a shaft, so it would be much easier to make the final connection. Having said that, it definitely took a toll on my hands. That little piece of antler was pretty pithy in the center or else I might not have been able to do it by hand drilling. Ideally, you don’t want any of that remaining spongy antler at the tip. These are becoming some of my favorite tips just because how durable and versatile they are. That arrow buried itself pretty deep into that stump. I hope you try making a few and see how they hold up. It was great hearing from you. Thanks so much for writing. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and you’re getting some time to do some neat things. I look forward to stopping by and seeing what you’ve been up to lately! Talk to you soon Ben
