The style that you have designed look to be from the family of Algonquin people/ tribes / nations of the northeast 1st nations people! Very good! They look quite proper indeed!

Look into making a buckskin wrap skirt to go with them that ends right above the knees or knee length. Some good styles are simple eastern woodland styled one that you see many different nations wearing, or maybe a Powhatan styled one as seen in some of the early engravings around Jamestown like the one depicting weroan by Theordore de Bry Flemish. One of my favorite combos for the warmer weather. You can take off either the skirt or leggings as you get warmer too if you wear a breech under the wrap skirt.

Thanks for writing, DJ. I had thought about the skirt in the past but was concerned about decency on KZbin. I had not considered wearing the breech underneath the skirt. I am curious, in your experience, would you wear a breech with short or very little front and rear flaps underneath such a waist wrap. I can tell you are familiar with this attire so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for the helpful tips...good to hear from you!.....Ben

TheTribeOfBenjamin I usually wear a much shorter breech cloth both front and back under my wrap skirt than my normal breech cloth that I’d wear without my wrap skirt.

Those are awesome Ben! After watching this I realized I could’ve saved some time if I had just done a couple of ties like you did instead of sewing a seam all the way up the side like I did, oh well...maybe on the next pair. Thanks for sharing your way with us Ben, take care buddy!!

Yo Ben, good job on those half leggings! Watching your video again today convinced me to make a pair out of german tan buckskin myself, to wear with my german tan breechclout, and they turned out perfect! Did a simple running stich with a buckskin thong on the outside of the half legging, (so I can loosen them) so I can get my feet through the bottom portion of the legging. Nice and tight, but not too tight. Thanks for the inspiration! The Woodsman

Awesome video man. I still have your hide sitting in my closet. Can’t wait until I use it. Do you maintain your buckskin clothing with any oil, or do you let it just get naturally worn out?
@TheTribeOfBenjamin4 жыл бұрын
Awesome to hear, Aaron. Deerskin is an amazing material, it will serve you well. I only recommend introducing oil into the footwear. mocs can take a real pounding and dry out quick. Oil in the skins clogs them and makes them attract dirt as well as kills their insulation value. That soft fluffy buckskin gets softer with wear just by soaking some of your natural sweat and oils up. The only buckskin that I have ever worn out is foot wear...the stuff is soft as suede but strong as iron. When I have to wash them, I wash them with a natural soap and they fluff right back with regular use! Take care, Man and thanks for stopping by!.....Ben
