McSmalls_ YT You should listen to Alison Balsom, Tom Hooten for classical, Wayne Bergeron, Arturo Sandoval for jazz. Not to hate or anything, but if you just listen to him, it’ll affect your way of playing as he has an airy sound.

Is there a note substitute for the highest F you have to play? I’m a seventh grader and can’t play that high but really want to play this, if not, tips
@alexcarter88073 жыл бұрын
Get the Rubank book! The first book has the best exercises and will have you playing to that top of staff F in an amazingly short time. You're probably learning out of a band book like Standard Of Excellence or something and those are fine for band, but the Rubank series are really good for getting good on your instrument (the band books are good for having the whole band play and somehow not destroy the band room in the process).
@ColinMroczko3 жыл бұрын
My biggest piece of advice for range would be to make sure you’re not making it harder than it needs to be. Often times with younger players, they are putting in way too much effort and it ends up making it a lot harder. Practice flexibility a lot and actively try to expand your range; you’ll definitely get to a top line F quickly. Practice a lot, but also make sure not to overwork yourself too much to avoid damage.
@sirklik89413 жыл бұрын
@@alexcarter8807 thank you, my teacher has practically taught us the same stuff each year from 6th-8th. In seventh we had to Bc of an abundance of new players and grades being mixed Into one class, and 8th for no reason.

@@ColinMroczko idk what’s happening but on fresh lips max note i can play is c above the staff or rarely c sharp, but whenever i play at anytime other than school, my lips get insanely tired and i can’t even play the high e in the staff. If it helps you, i have a bad underbite that makes my teeth dig into my bottom lip. i don’t know if it’s that though.

@@RealPew this is not a good idea. You want to use the air and tongue position to change the pitch, not embouchure tension. The embouchure will naturally change a little bit but you shouldn’t think about it too much.
