Its not necessary to feed 2 meals, you just need to fulfill daily calorie needs, and indian dogs are more likely to get lousy, obese and crazy for food if you feed them twice or thrice a day. To make them obedient its a good practice.

This is just unbelievable! It blew my mind how perfectly they understand each n every word the owner is saying be it in english or hindi. This is example of amazing bonding n emotion between human n an animal. So lovely! The only this which worries me so much is why he provide meal only once in a damn whole day? It's total torture. I too have a dog... I too traind him in this way.. I love my dog.. Till he set i never serve him food.. Know he him self set 1st before I say.. He come to drop me at bus stop in the morning at 7.00 am and he came to pick me at railway bridge sharp at 7.20 pm. Walking distance from house 15minuets.. And and always he come alone... This is my 5th dog... For all dog i have trained like this only... No one can touch me Infront of my dog..
