Housewares are always a mixed bag. But you polished trash into treasure. Always suprising how little stuff adds up.

Thanks Kayle, it all washed up pretty easily too! 👍

This episode is certainly a prime example of why you are called the Ultimate Recycler! I could barely keep the despair at bay when you first pulled the decrepit items out of the crate. However, when you unveiled the cleaned up treasures I was incredulous. Nice work, per usual!

They did clean up very well and it sure made a big difference to the potential sale price! Thanks Elaine 😊👍

Turning rags to riches! The kettle scrap was a surprise... 10 times more value in old kettle scrap than modern ones.

Yes Martin, today's kettles aren't high on a scrapper's wish list! 👍

40 big steps in the right direction. I hope you don't finish too soon though, I enjoy these little treasure hunts! Kudos to Wayne for suggesting this to you. Hope your parents are doing well.

Thanks Dee - I don't think we need to worry about the unboxings running out for quite a while yet! 🤣

That coffee pot is lovely. And the saucers with the pattern on them. I hope you find the cups.

Thanks Kas! Yep, I hope so - they are a nice pattern! 😊👍

As the old Electrolux salesmen used to say, "You never reach saturation point", the gainsayers chirping that 'what do you do when everyone has a vacuum cleaner?' Just seems to be a never-ending market for such things, Chris. Good video.

Thanks mate! Definitely no saturation point for this type of stuff! 😊👍

I liked that coffee pot. I have a large collection of Halls China coffee pots from the 30's and 40's. While many china companies closed in the 50's, this one is still operating today near Pittsburgh, PA. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent Cynthia! It's amazing the variety of coffee pot styles - especially in the art deco period! 😊👍

I think that coffee pot is a great deal. The shipping to the US would kill me, else I'd make an offer!
@TheUltimateRecycler Жыл бұрын
Yeah shipping anywhere these days is an expensive exercise unfortunately! Thanks Rosa 😊

Nice coffee pot :-) I believe the tin jelly moulds are actually brioche moulds.

The Bakelite plugs came up great, what did you polish them with? Also, what did you clean the tin with? Cheers.
@TheUltimateRecycler Жыл бұрын
Just fine soapy steel wool Ross - but only gently as it will scratch and dull the surface if worked too hard (and take the paint right off the tin).

The fish mould would be for a savoury fish terrine. Not my cup of tea tbh!
@TheUltimateRecycler Жыл бұрын
That doesn't sound like my cup of tea either Julie! Let's just use it for jelly! 😉😀
