so i'm only a minute into watching this, but from the sounds of it it might be a good idea to save up all of your gifts so that you can open them all somewhere safe; maybe they could all be in a chest until you feel like trying your luck. you could open them in a big arena sort of place with little pools of water (in case of fire/temperature but also to hydrate) and if it's made out of the right stuff, you don't have to worry as much if you die if its close enough to your base to recover the stuff, but far enough away so that it doesn't just destroy your base. would be a bit optimistic of me to say try obsidian tbh, but it'd probably be the best bet. i'd have said bucket spam in the nether, but last time i went there on RLcraft i got my shit wrecked in a flat 30 seconds. but it could be useful, once it's up. later on you could repurpose this as a sort of jail or something or an exp farm... you get my drift.
