I’d have to agree. Love Gary Husband’s album of Holdsworth tunes although every time I hear these versions I can’t but help go back and listen to the originals.

Never noticed how AH has strongly “ gamelanish “ nuancès in his music. It’s a mix of original jazzy approach, gamelan echoes, and some dodecafonic “ spice “ here and there
