The Lions are not lucky. If they were, arguably the best defensive player in football wouldn't have shattered his leg on his teammates knee. And that's on top of major injuries at every level of the defense. The Lions are just insanely talented and have elite coaching on both sides of the ball. I haven't been this confident in a Detroit team since the prime Red Wings teams.

Oh I've been reveling in it. Everybody is gung ho about the SB and while that would be great, it's the week to week that fills me with the joy of haters tears. Look Super Bowls come and go but the week to week sustains the common fan for months. It only takes a play for the best team in Football to lose in the SB, but it takes a monster team to sustain a run in the regular season. THIS is what I have been waiting for as a Lions fan all of my life. The Pistons 04 run holding opponents under 70, the Wings 22 consecutive playoff trips. For me, it has sunk in that the Lions are an elite team. I still get the occasional PTSD moments, but they are rare. This team has so much talent, especially on the offense. Once the defense gets healthier,.it should be really fun. The Lions make me think of a movie I saw. It was called, "Duel," with Dennis Weaver. Dennis was traveling by car on business in the California desert. He was stalked by a guy driving a huge truck that spewed diesel exhaust. The truck was terrifying and it never let up on him. The look of fear and panic on his face was very evident. The Lions are that stalking truck ready to run their opponents down. This is just so much fun!

I've been watching the Lions since the mid 90's and yes, it has sunk in, this team is built different. I was concerned in Dallas when we lost Hutch, but we haven't lost a game since. I've always been the delusional type that like when someone asks "how are the lions gonna do this year?" I say they're going all the way every year. So it feels really fucking good to be able to say it with a straight face and watch the team stand on it every week. There's not a loss on the schedule the rest of the year. Ravens are the only team that scare me even a little. Imagine having to be the team to play the Lions in their first Super Bowl. And to be honest I'm not sure if they can take the Ravens because of the best running QB. It would be a tough matchup. Give them second best. Bad take, the lions have serious key injuries to positions we don't have lots of depth in. When aidan went down y'all were saying the sky was falling. Everyone else is lucky that we don't have hutch.
