Even if it were true, what kind of mother sends an email like that to her son? That is something a mother should say face-to-face to her son in a private environment. Then she sends a "follow-up" email that contradicts the first one. Is she mentally unstable? Did she realize that her email could become public record, and she was doing damage control? I don't know if Hegseth is guilty of these things, but that's not how a sober mother handles it.
