Where Edward is concerned I agree with Taz that it was likely to have been grief. Because of his age what people forget is that Edward was the 'baby' of the family and they are often closer to their parents, especially their mothers. Edward never spent as long away from home, in the Armed Forces or on foreign tours, as his older brothers. Princess Anne was always Prince Phillip's favourite, and the most like him in character, whereas King Charles was the favourite of the Queen Mother. Where people always think that Prince Andrew was the late Queen's favourite I think that the Queen, like most mothers, could see into her childrens' hearts and realised that Prince Andrew's favourite person was Andrew and her 'favour' was more about trying to keep him in line and from acting out (like H has been doing for the last 5 years). Prince Edward was allowed to leave the Armed Forces well before his position should have allowed and he was allowed other 'indulgencies' that his siblings were not (especially Andrew). Also he was under no pressure to get married and was allowed a lot more freedom. As a mother of 3 boys and 1 girl (like the Queen) your youngest boy is always your baby.

Weird. I find it an insult to Danny Kaye, who starred in "The Court Jester" during the height of his popularity. The same film also included Basil Rathbone's final film sword fight, and he credited Kaye for picking up the basics of sword fighting in about one month. That sword fight is also unique because (for a plot related reason) Kaye's character kept switching between being scared witless and waving the sword crazily with being "the greatest with a blade" and being ultra confident and able to force Rathbone's character back, only for Kaye to win the fight as himself without the "magic". Edit to add; I love Danny Kaye and "The Court Jester" is a triumph that I think everyone should see. Get it? Got it. Good!

I know that Harry thinks he was the Queen's favorite grandchild, but i have also heard and read that she and Phillip really enjoyed the frequent visits of their youngest grandchildren. Prince Phillip did share his love of carriage driving with Lady Louise and did leave her his personal carriage. I think it was Diana's wish that Harry would be William's right hand. I've stopped listening to most royal experts after how they reacted to Catherine's illness. It is obvious that the media channels do not bother to read the comments or choose to ignore them.

The chocolate/liver treats made me hoot with laughter and reminded me of my first visit with my husband's British family (we are Canadians). Went to the loo during a visit and pulled the cistern chain which promptly separated leaving me standing with the chain in my startled hand. After several indecisive minutes I stepped out, chain in hand, very apologetically. The entire room erupted in raucous laughter...much to my intense relief. The ice was well and truly broken and I was in like Flint as we say. Cheers and sip from Canada 🇨🇦

Oh Shauna! The orchid story was hilarious! Years ago I went down to visit a friend and I noticed that she had one in her bathroom. I remarked on how beautiful it was! And all the blooms and more to come out. Now my friend at that time didn’t have a green thumb at all was so pleased that I was impressed. Told me she and hubby were so proud of it and babied the thing, watering it and feeding it regularly. Over the years I would comment on the orchid every time I went down to visit. And one day she says to me in the phone: you know my orchid? I says yes, you didn’t kill it did you? She says no, we just found out it’s a fake! They had it for over five years at this point and never knew!

Funny that you mentioned Talk TV today, because today I actually hit the 'don't recommend' button on them due to the bs coming out of the male presenter's mouth. He said Samantha Markle should just get on with her life and stop trying to sue her sister. Lord, I didn't bother staying for the rest. According to the comment section, he said quite a bit more about King Charles that was offensive. I'm just done with them. I looked it up, and apparently they couldn't get the numbers on television, so they moved to YT, but are struggling. Gee... I wonder why.
