16:28 fyi the first word of ZhuGeNu is pronounced "ju" (as in June), it was westernized to ChuKoNu in aoe2 but they decided to keep the chinese name in the new game. The name comes from ZhuGeLiang, the strategist from the 3 kingdom era even though he had nothing to do with its invention

pronouncing with a "z" is more accurate in mandarin, as in z+ch+wu as you mention that the name comes from zhugeliang.

Zhuge nu is a highly underrated unit. Archers do 5 and 5 bonus vs light melee (spearmen) Zhuge nu, fire 3 arrows of 4 dmg Standard. 12 dmg standard vs a normal archers' 5. And they also fire .25 seconds faster than archers! I love putting a batch of zhuge vs (ranged) light cav, or vanilla archers, and seeing my opponent micro in fear cause his units drop like flies to this lowkey dps beast. Unless you got early armored units zhuge nu beat most things a fuedal opponent can throw at them xP

The chinese need a boom to a least Yuan to be offensively capable though. Prior to that they will do well for defending. They need x1.5 the resources to totally age up compare to other civs

Incredible how broken french are, why did they gave everything to them, insane early and mid game and late game is just busted. Superior knights, tank alabardier, even better siege units and on top of that they also have the best navy. Are delepors French or they just can't balance the game?

It doesn't make any sense to play Chinese, it's harder and for no benefits. So far almost every match using Chinese loses in the hands of pros.developers need to fix.

yea, civs are not balanced right now imo. But it's ok - game is just released and meta is currently building. I think after 1-2 weeks a balance patch would fix most of the op strats

Does switching dynasties disable bonuses from the earlier ones? For example, when you go from Tang to Song, do you lose the scout LoS? Then when you advance to Yuan, do you lose the faster villager creation? Do you lose zhuge nu and villages when you advance from Song to Yuan, to be replaced with two other unique units?

yes, you lose the bonuses and the units, but if you build the Spirit Way landmark in Ming you can get access to previous unique units and buildings, but not the bonuses i think

Funny detail: If you pronounce Drongo fast enough and with a slight accent, it sounds like "Zhongguo" (where the ZH is pronounced as a J), which is the Mandarin word for China. Rather fitting whenever he plays Chinese.

Game came down to Chinese not walling in time. Everytime I face a Chinese player they wall off so freaking early. Aussie Drongo got VERY lazy with his lack of walling and cost him big time. Walking halfway across the map with crossbows and Springgalds 😂 how many times? ggs thou...fun to watch the pros

Honestly I have never understood why they do not. The walls are extremely cheap and op is slowing pushes. If china walled earlier his econ would never have suffered.

The units all look same they fail there the buildings looking cool tho but the archers all look same the cavalerie looks same I don’t like that to much
