Paladins counter Genoese Crossbowman?!

i have been telling for two years that genoese are too weak against frank paladins. the dev do not listen

Yes, not to mention Persian Savar.... The Genovese elite upgrade is one of the most expensive for what it gives... Italians are one of my favorite civs but feels like they are lacking power in the archer line in mid to late imp... The Eco bonus to age are nice but if you don't snowball fast it doesn't offer any sustained eco advantage or power unit... Condos are amazing but terrible against cav.... It is a civ that can do everything but doesn't excel at anything

30:34 I feel like if the Genoese were put in between the 2 stables and the range they would have dominated instead of being left out in the open to be easily surrounded. at min 25 onwards i think you got all your priority wrong vipey. you knew at that point that he is going to go 100% paladins without a signle penny on anything else and so i personally think what you needed there is to just have 1 more safe castle and mass at least 40 genoxbows"even lightcavs were not needed at that point just sell the food/wood to mass the genoxbows" there is no way a unit that costs half as much as a paladin would stand a chance when the paladin is 3 times outnumbering them. you needed a mass there !

Frank paladin is dangerous in a sense that they are very strong while also quick mass at the same time.

no need for walls. he had castles and a lot of TCs. Needed to not loose his army and keep throwing units to mantain a mass before paladin came... Probably pikes wouuld saved his ass also.

G crossbow are amazing counter to cav but like any archer they need micro and numbers more important than the elite upgrade for this unit particularly, getting more stone , wood and gold than food is priority for italian as G crossbow and BBC composition can destroy any thing except for high peirce counter infantry

I feel like elite genovese need a small buff... The upgrade is so expensive and it takes forever to have the numbers needed for it to work... Savar eats them worse than paladin, which doesn't make sense being an anti cav unit
