Lisa (middle screen) is the oldest, Shelley (on the left) and Amy (on the right) are a fraternal twin. They participated in Beste Zangers 2016. A few songs : Clown and Sing. In this last song they use a technique they call "Echoing". After the song they explain it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJvFl4Vvg9mhhKc Sorry no translation.

This echoing is really cool. Singer 1 sings the first word, singer 2 the second word etc. And the way they do tjis it really blends. They started out doing this as a kind of game when they were growing up.

Shelley, the one on the left, is the one who did the high part. She apparently always does the high singing, or at least most of the time. Sometimes the sister on the right, Amy will do some of those. Shelley has a very clean tone, while Amy has a very metallic tone. Full of twang, which they all have, but hers has the most . Lisa, the one in the middle, is the oldest and has the huskier , darker, lower sitting voice of the three. Her sisters Amy and Shelly are twins. Amy, the one on the right actually has a one lung and a heart condition, so the way she sings is a miracle. I just find it incredible that these women were able to blend so well, and get the timing of their singing so right, in spite of the fact that they can't hear each other at all in isolation.

If you want to see how close they can sound, then watch them sing "Sing" and in middle "echo" when they sing one word each in sequence (they open their hands to show who is singing when). A few clips of this, but this fuller version has them afterwards demonstrate the middle section acapella. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJvFl4Vvg9mhhKc

Despite the girls being relative young they are already "seasoned" artists. They won the Junior Songfestival and were the first trio to ever win on any international version of The Voice. They went on to compete on the "adult" version of the Eurovision Songfestival with the self-written song "Lights and shadows" about the pending death (and how to go from their) of their mother. Despite the strong message, clear vocals and excellent live performance and doing really well with the jury voting it suffered from "poor staging" and while it did reach the finals it ended up at a disappointing 11th place. I could probably fill an entire page about Eurovision voting politics but this one was clearly punished for the "less-is-more vision" part that The Netherlands tend to go for staging wise and has since then been recognized as one of the most underappreciated performances at the Eurovision. Like Floor they also performed on the show "Beste Zangers" with the great Marcel Fisser Band. Especially "Clown" and "Sing" are noteworthy performances. In "Sing" they exhibit their own signing technique called "echoing" where they each sing (part of) a word in rapid succession to make an interesting blend. I highly recommend those. Because Amy (the right one) was born with only one lung and her heart partly rotated she falls under the high risk category if she ever was to contract the COVID virus. They went in to home isolation in a pretty early stage. To keep practising (couldn't resist) singing and to please their fans they decided to upload their "home isolation versions". Depending on your musical preferences there is plenty to chose from. They did a fun Bee Gees and Simon & Garfunkel medley and I really enjoyed "Jolene". However my personal favourite must be "Get me back" if not for the addition of the legendary Candy Dulfer with her Sax to give it that funky feel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJW9goBpbtZnoM0 By the way the name OG3NE comes from O (the bloodtype of their mother) and the genes that connect them with one another. The 3 must be obvious.

Really enjoyed your reaction, since you include an analysis of their vocals and approach etc. Many 'reactions' are like: They're awesome (which they are!!!!), and that's it. I've listened and watched lots of their performances, and i'm pretty sure Lisa (in the middle) almost always does the lower parts, Amy (to the right) often does the high harmony parts, and Shelley is in the middle. However, when then is a high note, without harmonies, it's Shelley taking it on, like in this song. But hey, maybe you've figured that all out by now. ;-) Anyway, thanks for your very interesting insight! (btw I would recommend their Disney, and Heartbreak medley's, since those videos showcase their incredible voices just beyond words.)

I was thinking to myself : this is mesmerizing! And then you went and said "I am mesmerized" ... and I gave an internal "YEAH! RIGHT ON!" -- this was delicious! It is interesting that you noted the voice quality that can 'run' in families (I'm paraphrasing, so excuse me if I took this out of context of what you meant by 'genetically linked') and I was thinking of how my cousins love to sing together as a family, and to sign with other cousins whenever there are get togethers, and how their delightful harmonies that fit together like spoons in a drawer. It is perhaps in part family members' familiarity and ease, but probably also the 'familial-vocal-cords' they share and the musical ear they are so excellent at sharing. This 'different but alike and well meshed together' is most certainly evident in these three, who are shut-the-front-door amazing! I didn't know about the, and now I want to listen to everything these sisters sing! THANK YOU!

Yes, they are staying very separated as the lady on the right was born with one lung (it must be good sized as she doesn't seem very short breathed). Their Voice of Holland audition is one of the legendary ones. They covered a BeeGees song for that audition, and have a Isolation compilation of BeeGees too. Also, filmed with iPhones and the music in their earbuds to keep time, but otherwise not hearing each other at all.

@@xxcris20xx you are literally everywhere…Are you in love with Amy hahah? And do you even like Shelley (or Lisa)? Looks like you’re only hear to convince everyone Amy is the best. It isn’t a compitition and everyone’s taste is different broo. Lots of people prefer Shelley because of her powerfull and dynamic voice, I really understand that. It’s like comparing Beyonce (more Shelley-ish voice) to Ariana (more Amy-ish voice). I like the fact that Shelley and Amy both have high voices but both so different but they also mix up so well together!

@@EnnaSnomis I like them all, that's why I watch all of their videos. Not just because I like one member! I just prefer Amy the most because of the way she sounds. And yes, everyone has their own favorites. I'm not even trying to show that Amy is the best than the others as you said before. I'm just obsessed with her tone the most lol. But there's actually some "fans" who seem to have only one favorite and then they try to put down the other two (Yeah, I've seen one person doing that a lot). And yes, I know a lot like Shelley because of her vocal range and a lot love Amy too (especially reactors from other countries) but mostly because of her tone (and vocals too). To be honest I can only compare Amy with Ariana Grande because she is in the same level as her and they both have similar tones but comparing Shelley with Beyonce just seems pretty weird, I'm sorry. Beyonce has a different voice and I honestly can't see what you did it here. And yes, they all are amazing together and mix so well together. I agree in that.

Great reaction again Christie, i was pretty sure you'd love our girls and well.. you do hehehe They have been singing together for their entire lives yes, and that experience shows from all angles, not only are they obviously talented, but the years of experience they already have under their belts, makes it so that they can pull of skills, few others can do. One of their most impressive skills is a thing they used to do as kids as a sort of game among themselves (and they still do), a skill their call echoing. What they do sounds simple enough, each picks a word from a set of lyrics, and together they combine these words seamlessly to form the actual lyrics of the song and when you hear it... its very impressive. As a singer and vocal coach you are well aware of how incredibly difficult it is to get the timing right to make something like that work, but these girls have build in metronomes or something because they are spot-on each and every time. Check that skill out here --> kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXmremyhpqmbh6M Obviously that is from the great show "Beste zangers" (where else!) and in this they show how its done, they use their hands to signal to us, who sings what part of the lyrics and its still "hella" confusing on how they pull that off. I'm 100% sure you'll love this song and skill by them, so i suggest to check it out one of these days :D Ty Christie for your (always) lovely reaction to our beloved sisters. Oh and before i forget to mention, they recorded this at each of their homes, they recorded it with their iphones separate from eachother with only (i believe) the piano parts on their earbuds. They literally could not hear eachother during the recording, but they are so in tune, they know exactly when their part comes up and nail it when its their time. They did 2 takes for this... only because a neighbor unintended made some noise that was audible on the first take... so they had to do a second take.... Basically, they pulled this of "straight out of the box" ... incredible. And Queen themselves honored their version by sharing it, themselves, on their social media.... can you think of a higher praise than Queen themselves.. endorsing your cover? ... i sure cant :D See you in the next one Christie :D

Wow! Great, expert reaction, you obviously know your thing about vocal techniques 🙏. Some background information for you since you mentioned their parents: their father, Ricardo, is one of their songwriters, their mother Isolde, who was a classical dancer, sadly passed away 3 years ago (when the girls were 23 and 21) due to a very rare form of bone cancer after a long fight. The song “lights and shadows” depicts that struggle. It was the song with which they participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, could you react to the video of their live performance during the final that year? The key changes are extra terrestrial in my opinion! You need to see them singing "Sing" by Ed Sheeran. They use a technique they developed as children they call echoing. It's so good. I'm a new subscriber and love your positive attitude...so upbeat and encouraging!
