The first time I listened to tyranny I had too much of the strokes in mind and I couldnt get into it. Now I think The Voidz may be the greatest band of this century.

I used to listen to this music when I was severely depressed during quarantine. I went through probably the worst period of my life, just in mental agony basically every waking second. I listened to the voidz and the strokes all the way through my depression. I didnt understand back then, but the deep ass melancholy of some of the voidz songs is just so comforting. Its really like the saying: art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Listening to this again now that im better just made me sob my eyes out. Im so happy to be alive and im so grateful that I had this music to comfort me

“I think I’m ready, but I’m wasted” is such a good lyric. Me and my ex broke up a few weeks ago, he had such a passion for the strokes and the voidz. Especially Julian. Before I didn’t mind the music, to a point. Now that I’m really listening.. and realizing now. The lyrics and everything about their music, really related to me and what we went through. And I can’t help but listen to their music daily as a reminder of the good drives with him with the strokes blasted, hands entwined.. But hey everything happened for a reason. And that reason could be for someone else. iykyk

Parker So my enjoyment of this track suddenly diminishes my enjoyment of the previous ones? I don't understand what your point is. Also I'm not sure how you repeating the same sentiment with little to no elaboration, at least elaboration relevant to what you're arguing, over and over and consistently misinterpreting or over signifying points I make is really "destroying" me. It's more of me accepting that there's no point into getting across a concept that your arrogance is preventing you from initiating. Which is this: opinions are relevant to personal preferences. The overall value of one's held opinion is impossible to determine objectively because their opinion is formed from subjective attributes. Opinions are subjective, not objective. For example someone's taste in music is subjective to their own preferences. Whether that person's taste can be valued as good or bad is reliant on the preferences of those evaluating it. Someone liking something you dislike or may also like doesn't objectively make them inferior nor superior other than what you personally feel qualifies as such, which also is a subjective concept since it pertains to personal value and preferences. Saying something like "this person's opinion is bad because it's wrong" is flawed. You're proposing a claim defining a subjective concept ("the opinion") as another subjective concept ("bad"), but your supposed reasoning for your claim isn't even reasoning. You essentially just formed another claim just re-defining that subjective concept ("the opinion") as an objective state ("wrong"). Not only that, but there's no elaboration as to what you feel personally makes it "bad". Also the only way something can be "wrong" is if there's factual evidence to disprove what was believed to be correct. Like saying someone's opinion is "wrong" could only imply that this person didn't actually hold that opinion. I don't know why you hold so much significance to an argument you had in the KZbin comment section over nearly a month ago, people typically move on from these things. I don't know what more you could have possibly gotten out of this. It's not like anything I say here is going to convince someone with a mindset like yours. So what's the point? You're only wasting both of our time with nothing to gain.
