Julian Casablancas lyricism is so contradictory line for line but at the same time it works, I was listening to lord of the rings audiobook and early in the first book Frodo remembered how Gandalf said don’t take advice from elves because they will tell you both yes and no. So Julian is a wise Elf. And it’s awesome. Very much a psychedelic writer. Not that you didn’t already not know. Also love the hilarious Mac DeMarco Satan portrayal and the opening convo with Jim which took me a few seconds to realise who it was. So funny. Could make a whole movie of that and I’d watch it.
