WOW!!!!! I am Filipino American too! I am laughing and crying as I watch your video because it is so true! Everything you said! I too have a gazillion cousins apparently in Philippines that I have not met yet same with my brother. I dream is to go to the Philippines one day and meet everybody. My mom was Filipino. My dad was American and they are both with Jesus now. I’m so excited to watch your journey and I hope someday have my own journey there too!

Going to a Catholic school in Vancouver - we had a huge proportion of Filipino's. I was a fullback, and my tailback was filipino - and now that I know it about you - I see a lot of similarities... So that makes you the same % Filipino as Pharrell Williams - except his Filipino parent is his mom.

@@jshu-_-I was under the impression for years that his mom was filipino - and a 1971 beauty queen (but he was born in 72 - so might be a stretch). Upon doing further research, that info might be wrong...his Neptune partner Chad is. The info I had was his mom was Carolyn Masibay

I understand how your relationship with your father might affect your relationship with the culture, it's valid. But at the end of the day, it's still a part of you. Knowing yourself is an important part of growing as a person so I'm glad this awakening is happening to you still.

There's masculine and feminine of "Filipino." Even though in general we are all Filipinos, we call men Filipino (Pinoy) and women Filipina (Pinay).

Cologne Germany has a pretty decent Pinoy population (not very big but compared to others cities I have visitied, they are visible!) and most of the guys/chicks I know are like you, half-half. I don't know what it is about you but you guys have the most positive energy, even the introvert ones. Pinoys have the extra Positive gen 🤩

Hi Silas, In 2024, what kind of race you are should no longer be an issue. Or if somebody is black or white. Who cares. But I can understand that you want ro learn more about the culture of your father's country. Hope you can visit the Philippines soon😊 Greetings to TX
@jojoban60928 ай бұрын
That should be the ideal thought. But in realty, that is not true. I am born Filipino but already a US citizen for a long time, I still get discriminated here in USA. Discrimination is still very rampant.. My son who is a Filipino Black American at his young age got discriminated already.. Race or ethnicity or even just having an accent should not matter in 2024 already but it does in reality.. smh

The same is true in Europe of course but white Europeans like to pretend no such thing exists and call themselves enlightened. And so nothing ever changes.@@jojoban6092
