Such an important message. I messed up my body about 10 years ago when I deadlifted way too much before having built up a good core. Something happened, and I had to stop going to the gym. I used my body as a tool for my mind, instead of letting them work together. I have since then done hot yoga for healing over the past six years, but still feel the pain from time to time, especially in my feet and hips. I beg, JJ, listen to this man Wade speak, it is not worth it. We all know you got an amazing mind and work ethic, but keeping your body healthy and strong fundamentally is so important.
@GassedFEIN

I mean dead lifting and squats just aren’t exercises you don’t wanna do I’ve been lifting for 10 months now and yeah there’s definitely exercises that can hurt you but if you know what your doing and do it safe you’ll be fine I just wouldn’t recommend squats or deadlifting to anyone I think it’s stupid and pointless but mostly I use dumbbells or cables only time I use a bar is for bench press
@Davidlyv1
@Davidlyv1 Жыл бұрын
@@GassedFEIN Appreciate your comment. I was young, hardheaded, and was fighting a really nasty eating disorder...so went to the gym and did all sorts of crazy stuff. That mixed with a very unhealthy main character mentality, at times similar to how JJ wants to go super Saiyan, which is why lots of what he is doing makes me worried. I feel much better now though, and the damage my body took made me "grow out of it" mentally, and I have a much more healthy relationship with both food and overall health (at least that is what I would like to think).

I don't pretend to be an expert weightlifter, but my primary weightlifting coach for 6ish years was a World Champion deadlifter, and was top 3 in the world in bench, squat, deadlift, without ever seriously training bench. Keeping the knees to not go over the toes is a good mindset for lower weight lifts, for the express purpose of not overworking ligaments and tendons on PRs. If JJ is actually lifting like this on a daily basis, he may not be able to walk without a cane in a couple decades. And if it's just during his "PR days on camera", he still could blow a ligament. He or his coaches need to figure that crap out now, or (as this vid may have been filmed awhile ago) stop the lifting right now and start physical therapy.

A lot of the flaws in his Olympic lifts (front squat, OH Squat) is due to lack of mobility. You’re completely right on his lack of getting parallel on his squats, rounded back, knee position, etc. But, for proper squat technique in general, you need great mobility in your ankles for proper depth. Also, for an OH squat, shoulder mobility, locking out your elbows, and a braced core (inhale before each rep so you feel like your touching your belly button to your back) helps with an overall better OH squat. My main point is, your analysis is great, but KSI lacks a lot of mobility which can restrict lifts. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol

I see a lot of people commenting on the form of the lifts. However, in some cases (maybe KSI’s), it’s better to do a half depth squat. Those type of squats are commonly used to build explosiveness, something all boxers need. Maybe it is just him having bad form, but it’s also worth a thought that maybe it’s planned.

Lighter weight, proper form with slow decline to full depth then explode upwards would be better for building his explosiveness. I think he was just trying to film a video to show off a bit though. Lifting lighter weight, more control, building leaner muscle would seem more beneficial for the boxing ring. We all know he is a machine though, so it'll be interesting to see how this all carries over when he steps back in that ring!

As a guy who did (olympic) weightlifting for years, we fanously go beyond the depth needed for strength gains because we are trying to catch a bar, lower we get, the easier it is to get under the bar. But you got this wrong - Hips back on a front squat: The mental queue is to just sit between your hips, chest forward, elbows parallel fowards. Knees over toes is never an issue as long as the ankle mobility supports it. Look at Klokov's heaviest lifts. Also "could've gone heavier" on the OHSquats, no he couldn't, from that setup. There's 2 safe ways to get into a OHS position. 1. Snatch / power snatch it up or 2. From a rack do a drop-snatch. If you can't cleanly execute those movements, you will get injured not by the OHS itself, but getting the barbell in that position to begin with... but here's he thing. Is the juice worth the squeeze? Is it worth lowering the weight to teach the movements for better strength and stability long term this close to the fight, or is it better to just get him on machine with maximal weight in safe formats? That's for his strength and conditioning coach to say, but he he has to say it lol

Wade since you are struggling with monetisation you should make it where your audience can be accessible to become a member of your channel. They get-Exclusive Content, Special Emojis, Member only livestreams (once in a while) And In return you get the money you deserve. I have worked for KZbinrs in the past and I understand with your situation with your vids getting “limited” it’s a bloody nightmare brother, try and post the video with a blank white image for a thumbnail and type in the title “family friendly pg clean” and In the description type Suitable for monetisation, safe for monetisation, eligible for monetisation. Then when KZbin run the check to see if it’s safe for your vid to get monetised. They will DEFINITELY monetise it then after it’s monetised apply the thumbnail and title and feel free to delete the stuff in the description. Then boom monetised 👍 hit me up in my comments if you want some more help brother. I know the struggle 😂👍 Much love brother stay safe

As a bodybuilder myself I would not be so worried about what he is doing. He is actually training exactly how he should be. He does NOT want to build more muscle FOR SURE, and i'm 100% that his coaches are making sure he is not building more muscle. He is not training for RAW power either, he is training explosively and that is it. I would say that the movements that need explosiveness that actually would benefit from full range of motion are done by other movements (Moving around, jumping, sprinting etc.....) He is not going to need to correct his form. If he wants to become a powerlifter or a bodybuilder then he has a lot to work on. HE is safe, he got people around him to make sure that he does not get hurt.

But you ain't gonna get proper explosiveness without proper form. His knees literally crumble when he's trying to do those front squats, limiting his explosiveness and risking injury. He needs to fix that form or use lighter weights because if he continues this it will damage his body.

Dear lord jj needs to go watch any pro powerlifter or weightlifter squat. As a seasoned lifter the lack of control and depth while loading up the bar is making me livid. Doing 100kg on the front squat clean would've achieved much more while mitigating the injury risk. The muscles don't know how much weight is on the bar they only care about how intense the stress on them is. I can also tell instantly by the 45kg overhead squats that he lacks in mobility big time. He wouldn't be able to overhead squat just the 20kg bar past parallel if he tried. Edit: calling that a bench pb jfc
